Guide · Skin booster timing
Skin booster timing in Singapore when to book before a wedding or a big event
A skin booster before a wedding or a big event can help skin look hydrated and fresh, but only if the timing leaves room for bumps and bruises to settle and for the effect to build. Here is a countdown from eight weeks out, for needle-free boosters at SkinRev Lab and injectable boosters with a doctor.

Quick answer
- Good skin booster timing in Singapore means starting injectable boosters about eight to twelve weeks before an event and having the last session at least four weeks before, so bumps and any bruising have settled and the change in skin quality has had time to build. Bruises usually clear within 10 to 14 days but can take longer.
- Needle-free boosters can be done closer to the date: there is little or no downtime, and hydration often shows soon after a session. A last session about two weeks before is reasonable if you have had one before without a reaction; try it for the first time well ahead.
- Space boosters and energy treatments: a 2024 review recommends doing energy-based device treatments before booster injections or a few weeks after them. After an injectable booster, avoid facials, saunas and strenuous exercise for a day or two.
- At SkinRev Lab, CityLink Mall: Needleless SkinBooster S$288 per region (first region from S$98), Rejuran® PDRN Facial S$128 to S$348 and HydraFacial Syndeo S$288 to S$438 (first-timer rate at the counter), all before GST. Injectable boosters are performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic and priced at consultation.
Two kinds
Needle-free and injectable boosters run on different clocks
A needle-free booster, such as the Needleless SkinBooster at SkinRev Lab, delivers a booster solution through a specialised applicator tip without puncturing the skin. Skin may look flushed for a short while; hydration is often noticed soon after, while tone and skin quality build across a course, typically every two to four weeks.
An injectable skin booster places tiny droplets of hyaluronic acid (HA), polynucleotides (PN) or PDLLA into the dermis, about 1 to 2 mm deep. It is a medical procedure performed by a doctor. Small bumps and redness usually settle within hours to a day or two, bruising is possible, and the change builds gradually over weeks, usually across a course.
That difference is the whole timing question: injections need a recovery window and a build-up period, while needle-free boosters need little recovery but fade faster without upkeep.
Countdown
Skin booster timing in Singapore: the countdown to your event
Count back from the date. If there is a pre-wedding shoot, count back from that too, because flash photography shows bumps and bruises.
These are planning frames, not promises about how fast any booster works. Your doctor and Aesthetic Specialist set the exact plan, and results vary.
| When | Injectable boosters (doctor) | Needle-free boosters and facials (SkinRev Lab) |
|---|---|---|
| 8 weeks out | Consultation and first session; with three to four weeks between sessions there is room for two before the four-week mark, so start 10 to 12 weeks out for a three-session course | Start a Needleless SkinBooster or Rejuran® PDRN Facial course; do any laser or energy-based treatment before the boosters, or leave it until after the event |
| 4 weeks out | Last injectable session; nothing new from here | Continue the needle-free course every two to four weeks; keep your usual HydraFacial rhythm if it suits you |
| 2 weeks out | No injections; let any bumps or bruising clear | Last needle-free booster, only if you have had it before without a reaction |
| 1 week out | Nothing new; raise any concern with your doctor | A familiar, gentle facial such as HydraFacial two to five days before; no new products or peels |
| The day | Sunscreen, gentle skincare and make-up as usual | Sunscreen, gentle skincare and make-up as usual |
How long they take
How long boosters take to work, and how long they last
Needle-free: hydration is often noticed soon after a session, because water held in the skin is a quick, physical change. It also fades as sun and air-conditioning dry the skin, so it needs upkeep, while tone and skin quality build over a course.
Injectable: HA boosters improve hydration and radiance; a 2025 meta-analysis found these changes compared with controls, without a significant change in elasticity. A 2024 review describes a randomised study of 159 people in which an HA-based booster kept skin hydration higher for up to 16 weeks with repeat doses, and a European consensus that polynucleotide effects typically last six to twelve months after three sessions spaced three weeks apart. PDLLA boosters work more slowly, over weeks to months.
In practice, plan for an injected booster to build over two to four weeks after each session. That is why the last session sits at least four weeks before the event.
Bruising
Bumps and bruising windows
Injectable boosters leave a grid of small raised bumps that usually flatten within hours to a day, although thin under-eye skin can take longer. Bruising is possible, especially around the eyes. A guideline on bruising after non-surgical cosmetic treatment notes that bruises usually resolve within 10 to 14 days in healthy people but can persist, which is why injections are not scheduled in the final two weeks.
To lower the risk, the same guideline suggests avoiding aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers taken for pain relief for about a week beforehand, avoiding alcohol for 24 hours before, using cold packs in the first 48 hours and avoiding exercise for 24 hours afterwards. Supplements such as fish oil, high-dose vitamin E and ginkgo can also increase bruising; ask the doctor whether to pause them. Never stop aspirin or blood thinners prescribed for your heart or circulation for an aesthetic treatment.
Needle-free boosters do not puncture the skin, so bruising and scabbing are not expected.
Spacing
Spacing boosters with lasers, energy devices and facials
Boosters often sit in a plan with lasers or energy-based lifting. A 2024 review of skin boosters recommends scheduling energy-based device treatments either a few weeks after booster injections or before them, to minimise inflammation. A consensus on combining hyaluronic acid fillers with light-based treatments advises that, on the same day, the light treatment goes first.
After an injectable booster, the clinic advises avoiding facial treatments, saunas and strenuous exercise for a day or two. Needle-free boosters pair well with a facial that cleans the skin first, such as HydraFacial, because a prepared surface accepts actives more readily.
These are general patterns; your doctor and therapist set the exact spacing for your skin and the devices involved.
| Treatment | Before an injectable booster | After an injectable booster |
|---|---|---|
| HydraFacial or another facial | Usually fine a few days before | Wait a day or two |
| Laser, microplasma or energy-based lifting | Can come first, even the same day if the doctor plans it | Wait a few weeks |
| Peel or resurfacing with downtime | Finish and heal first | Wait until the doctor advises |
| Needle-free booster | Can be part of the same course | Wait a day or two, then follow the plan |
Short on time
Skin booster before a wedding with less than a month to go
With four weeks or less, a first injectable booster carries more risk than benefit for the photos: bumps and possible bruising need time, and the effect may not have built. A needle-free booster or a HydraFacial you have had before is the safer choice.
With two weeks or less, keep to treatments you know your skin tolerates, protect it from Singapore's strong sun, and leave anything new until after the event. If a spot or rash appears, see a doctor rather than attacking it with strong products.
Grooms, and anyone with a big presentation or reunion, can use the same countdown.
Who should wait
When to postpone a booster
Boosters are not advised in some situations, and the doctor or Aesthetic Specialist checks for these at assessment.
If any of them apply close to an event, it is usually better to wait than to squeeze a session in.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding, for injectable boosters.
- Active acne, infection, cold sores or an eczema flare in the area.
- Allergy to the ingredients; polynucleotide boosters are derived from fish DNA.
- A recent laser, peel or resurfacing that has not fully healed.
- A tan or sunburn, which makes skin more reactive.
- Autoimmune disease, a keloid tendency or a bleeding tendency: discuss with the doctor first.
- A history of cold sores, if injections near the lips are planned: ask the doctor about prevention.

Questions to ask
Questions to ask before booking a booster for an event
Bring your event date, and any shoot or ceremony dates, to the consultation. A good plan starts from those dates and works backwards.
If the answers suggest there is not enough time, the honest plan is a gentler treatment now and the booster course after the event.
- Which booster type do you suggest for my skin, and why?
- How many sessions, how far apart, and when is the last one?
- When should I expect to see a change, and how long will it last?
- How likely am I to bruise, and in which areas?
- What should I pause beforehand, and what should I avoid afterwards?
- What is the total cost of the plan, with GST?

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
How long before an event should I get a skin booster?
For injectable boosters, have the last session at least four weeks before, and start about eight to twelve weeks out if you want a course. For a needle-free booster you have had before, a last session about two weeks before is reasonable.
When should I get a skin booster before my wedding?
Ideally start two to three months before, with injectable sessions three to four weeks apart and the last one a month before the wedding and any pre-wedding shoot. Needle-free sessions can continue until about two weeks before.
How long does a skin booster take to work?
Needle-free hydration often shows soon after a session. Injected boosters build over two to four weeks after each session, and polynucleotide or PDLLA boosters build more gradually across a course.
How long do skin booster results last?
Needle-free hydration fades over days to weeks without upkeep. For injected boosters, a 2024 review describes polynucleotide effects lasting about six to twelve months after a three-session course, and an HA-based booster keeping hydration higher for up to 16 weeks with repeat doses. Maintenance is usual.
Will I bruise after a skin booster?
With injections it is possible, especially around the eyes. Bruises usually clear within 10 to 14 days but can take longer. Needle-free boosters do not puncture the skin, so bruising is not expected.
Can I get a skin booster one week before an event?
One week before, keep to a facial you have had before, such as HydraFacial. A needle-free booster is better finished about two weeks ahead, and a first injectable booster this close is not advisable, because bumps or bruising may still show.
Can I do laser and a skin booster together?
Yes, with planning. A 2024 review recommends energy-based treatments before booster injections or a few weeks after. If both are done on the same day, the light treatment usually goes first. Your doctor sets the spacing.
What should I avoid before a skin booster?
If you take aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers for pain relief, ask about stopping them for about a week; avoid alcohol for 24 hours; and ask whether to pause fish oil, high-dose vitamin E or ginkgo. Do not stop prescribed blood thinners. Avoid booking over active acne, cold sores or sunburn.
How much is a skin booster in Singapore?
At SkinRev Lab, the Needleless SkinBooster is S$288 per region before GST, with the first region from S$98, and the Rejuran® PDRN Facial is S$128 to S$348. Injectable boosters at IN Eternity Clinic are priced at consultation by the clinic.
