Dr Sin Yong medical adviser to SkinRev Lab

SkinRev Lab is a non-invasive aesthetic centre, not a clinic. Its medical adviser is Dr Sin Yong, a Singapore-registered doctor who trains the team on the machines in the centre and advises on safety and on when a concern needs a doctor instead.

Quick answer

  • Dr Sin Yong is the medical adviser to SkinRev Lab at CityLink Mall. He trains the SkinRev team hands-on, on the treatment machines in the centre itself, and advises on safety and on which concerns should be seen by a doctor.
  • He holds MBBS (Singapore), MRCS (Edinburgh) and an MSc in Practical Dermatology (Cardiff), and is the Medical Director of IN Eternity Clinic at Pacific Plaza, Orchard.
  • Treatments at SkinRev Lab are non-invasive and are carried out by trained Aesthetic Specialists. Medical treatments such as injectables and lasers are performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic, not at SkinRev Lab.
  • His registration can be checked on the Singapore Medical Council's public register of doctors.

The role

What a medical adviser does at SkinRev Lab

SkinRev Lab offers non-invasive treatments: facials, ultrasound lifting, microplasma tightening, microwave and ultrasound body contouring, muscle stimulation, waxing and brows. None of these involve injections or prescription medicines, and they are delivered by Aesthetic Specialists rather than doctors.

Dr Sin Yong's role is to make sure the team uses each machine safely and well, and that clients whose concerns are medical are pointed to a doctor rather than sold a treatment that cannot help them. He does not treat clients at SkinRev Lab; his medical practice is at IN Eternity Clinic.

  • Hands-on training for the SkinRev team on the treatment machines, in the centre itself
  • Advice on safety: who should not have a treatment, and what to look out for afterwards
  • Advice on when a concern needs a doctor's assessment instead of a non-invasive treatment

Training on the ground

Training the team on the machines

Energy-based machines are only as safe as the person operating them. Settings, pass technique, skin cooling and reading how the skin is responding all change the result and the risk, particularly in Asian skin, where heat and inflammation can leave pigment behind.

Dr Sin Yong trains the SkinRev team on the machines on the ground, in the treatment rooms where they are used, rather than relying on a one-off manufacturer demonstration. This covers technologies such as Alma PrimeX microplasma, Miglou UHF microwave, focused ultrasound lifting and HydraFacial Syndeo.
