Fine needles, insulated along their shafts so the skin surface is protected, are placed into mapped zones. RF current flows only from the exposed tips, producing heat at a set depth. In the first pass, the tips sit where the fibrous septa — the bands of connective tissue that divide fat into compartments — meet the superficial fat layer. The heat damages fat cells in that compartment, which the body then clears gradually, and causes the septa to contract.
A second, shallower pass places heat in the reticular dermis, the deeper part of the skin where collagen and elastin are concentrated. Heated collagen contracts, and over the following weeks the skin lays down new collagen in response, so the skin firms over the slimmer contour. Treating fat without tightening loose skin can leave it looking slack, which is why both layers are addressed in the same visit. Change develops over about six weeks as the tissue heals and remodels.

4K Body Lift suits adults at a stable weight who have a defined pocket of fat that has not shifted with diet and exercise, such as a lower tummy pouch, love handles, inner thighs, bra-line rolls or heavy upper arms. It also suits people with mild to moderate skin laxity in those areas, for example after pregnancy or moderate weight loss, who want firmer skin as well as a smaller contour. People who prefer fewer, more intensive visits to a long course of gentler treatments often find this approach practical.
It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for people with a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device, or where there are metal implants in the treatment area. Active skin infection, open wounds, a tendency to keloids or poor healing, and bleeding disorders need to be discussed or ruled out. Significant overhanging skin, such as after major weight loss or with a separated abdominal muscle bulge, is better assessed for surgery. At consultation, Dr Sin Yong examines you standing and lying, checks skin quality and the thickness of the fat you can pinch, and asks about your weight history, pregnancies, medicines and any previous procedures. The zones are mapped and photographed, and measurements are taken. If 4K Body Lift fits, a course is usually planned at consultation, and whether any further session would help is decided at review.
On the day, numbing cream is applied to the mapped zones and left to work before treatment begins. You may feel heat, pressure and some prickling. Afterwards, expect tenderness, mild swelling and pinpoint marks, and possibly bruising that settles over one to two weeks. Most people return to normal daily activity the same day, pausing intense exercise, saunas and hot baths for a day or two. Contour change builds over about six weeks; individual results vary.

Published studies support the principle behind RF microneedling for the body. In a study of 31 women, a single dermal and subcutaneous microneedle RF treatment of the upper arms, bra line and the area above the knee improved skin laxity and overall appearance at one, three and six months, with temporary redness, swelling and mild bruising as the main side effects. In postpartum women with loose abdominal skin, a course of microneedle RF improved skin elasticity and firmness, though the change in waist measurement was not statistically significant.
Safety depends on technique. An analysis of adverse event reports to the US Food and Drug Administration found that RF microneedling, while generally safe, can cause textural change, pigment change, unwanted fat loss and burns, and stressed that training and experience are crucial. Does 4K Body Lift hurt?

Afterwards the area is tender and may be swollen for a few days. Simple pain relief is usually enough. Dr Sin Yong adjusts settings during the session if any area feels too intense.
How many sessions are needed?
