Chin filler in Singapore uses a firm, cohesive hyaluronic acid (HA) filler placed on the chin bone to add projection, length or width where the chin is small or set back. In Singapore and across East Asia, a short or receding chin is common, and it can make the nose look larger, the lips look more prominent and the jawline look softer than it is. A small change in the chin often rebalances the whole profile.
Chin filler is a medical procedure performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic. It is not about creating a pointed 'V-line' at any cost: the aim is a chin that fits your nose, lips and jaw. Some people need projection forward, some need vertical length, and some need a little width so the chin does not look narrow from the front.

How it works
The mechanism,
in plain English
The chin is a structural area, so a high-firmness (high G') HA gel is used, often at about 20–25 mg/mL, placed deep on the bone (supraperiosteal) to mimic the shape of the bony chin. A needle is often used for precise deep boluses, with a cannula for blending into the jawline. Typical treatment volumes vary widely depending on how much projection is needed and how the face is proportioned.
Key anatomy includes the mentalis muscle, which can pull and dimple the chin, the mental foramen where nerves and vessels exit on each side, and the branches of the facial artery supplying the lower lip and chin. The chin is generally regarded as lower risk for vascular complications than the nose or forehead, but no area is without risk; careful depth, slow injection and anatomy knowledge still matter. Ultrasound can be used to check for old filler and vessel positions where needed.
“A retruding chin caused by the jaw bite is a dental question first; filler can soften the look but cannot move the jaw.”

Is it right for you
Who it suits,
and who it does not
Chin filler usually suits adults with a mild to moderate short or receding chin, a soft chin-to-neck angle that is not caused by fat, a chin that looks narrow from the front, or people who want better balance between nose, lips and chin without surgery. It can also be combined with jaw slimming injections or jawline filler for a more defined lower face.
Chin filler is not ideal for a severely receding chin or for a bite problem where the lower jaw sits far back; orthodontic or surgical options may fit better, and a dental opinion helps. It is not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active infection or dental abscess, or soon after dental work. A double chin caused by fat responds better to fat reduction or tightening than to filler. Overprojecting the chin to chase a sharp V-shape can make the face look heavy.
Non-invasive alternative at SkinRev Lab
SKINLIFT® — SKINLIFT® at SkinRev uses focused ultrasound to tighten the jawline and under-chin area. It cannot add chin projection, but if what bothers you is loose skin or softness under the jaw rather than a short chin, it is a reasonable non-invasive place to start. Read more
What to expect
Consultation, session
and aftercare
At consultation, Dr Sin Yong looks at your profile, the front view, your bite and the balance between nose, lips and chin, and asks about previous filler or dental work. He will explain whether filler is the right tool and how much change is realistic. On the day, the area is cleaned thoroughly and numbing cream may be used. Injection takes a short time, and you can check the shape in the mirror before finishing.
Afterwards, the chin may feel firm, tender and slightly swollen for a few days; bruising is possible. Avoid pressing or massaging the chin, heavy exercise and saunas for a day or two, and avoid dental procedures for about two weeks if possible. Contact the clinic urgently if pain increases or the skin turns pale or blotchy. A review is usually arranged a few weeks later once swelling has settled.

What the research says
The evidence,
with sources
Randomised controlled studies support HA filler for chin retrusion. In one study, 140 adults with mild or moderate chin retrusion were randomised to a high-firmness HA filler (25 mg/mL) or no treatment. Blinded evaluators found significantly more improvement in chin retrusion scores in the treated group, and this difference held through the end of follow-up. Adverse events were mostly mild or moderate and short-lived, with no serious treatment-related events.
A 2026 systematic review of 56 studies (4,844 patients) compared surgical and non-surgical chin augmentation. Surgery (genioplasty or implants) produced durable changes but carried risks such as infection, implant problems and lasting numbness. Filler gave quick contour improvement and high short-term satisfaction, with mostly transient side effects but rare serious vascular complications. The authors concluded no single technique was clearly superior and treatment should be individualised.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
How much does chin filler in Singapore cost?
The cost depends on how much filler is needed, which depends on your starting proportions and the change you want. Pricing is given at your consultation with Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic, after he has assessed your profile and bite. SkinRev Lab does not perform fillers, but our team can pass on your enquiry and help arrange the appointment.
Will chin filler give me a V-shaped face?
Chin filler can make the lower face look slimmer and more tapered by adding length and projection at the centre, but it does not reduce jaw width. If the square look comes from large chewing muscles, jaw slimming injections are the relevant treatment. A natural result balances the chin with the nose and lips rather than forcing a sharp point, which can look heavy over time.
Is chin filler in Singapore safe?
Chin filler has a good safety record and the chin is generally considered lower risk than the nose or forehead. Common effects are swelling, tenderness and bruising. Rare risks include infection, lumps, migration and vascular occlusion. Careful depth on the bone, slow injection, anatomy knowledge and access to hyaluronidase reduce and manage these risks. Tell the doctor about any dental problems before treatment.
How long does chin filler last?
It varies by product and area. The chin is relatively still compared with the lips, and firm gels placed on bone tend to persist well, but individual metabolism and the amount used also matter. Imaging studies show HA can stay in tissue longer than it is visible, so maintenance is planned conservatively and reviewed at each visit rather than on a fixed schedule.
Chin filler or chin implant?
Filler is adjustable, involves no incision and can be dissolved if needed, but it is gradually broken down. An implant or genioplasty is a surgical, long-lasting change with surgical risks and recovery. For mild to moderate retrusion, many people start with filler; for severe retrusion or a bite problem, a surgical or orthodontic opinion is often more appropriate. A systematic review found no single method clearly superior.
What is the downtime?
Most people return to work the same day or the next. The chin may feel firm and slightly swollen for a few days, and bruising can take a week to fade. Avoid pressing on the area, strenuous exercise and saunas for a day or two. If you have dental work planned, tell the doctor, as it is usually better to space the two apart.
