Guide · Bridal skin plan
Your bridal skin timeline what to do 12, 6, 3 and 1 months out, and in the final week
A wedding date does not move, so a pre-wedding skin plan works well when built backwards from it: start what needs time early, finish anything with a healing phase well before, and try nothing new in the final two weeks. Here is how that looks in Singapore, month by month.
Quick answer
- Plan backwards from the wedding date. Around 12 to 6 months out, sort out acne, pigment and anything that needs a course or a healing phase; around 3 months out, review and fine-tune; in the last month, only repeat what you already know suits you; and in the final two weeks, start nothing new.
- At SkinRev Lab, a HydraFacial rhythm every four to six weeks, a Rejuran® PDRN Facial or Needleless SkinBooster course for skin quality, and SKINLIFT® for the jawline all fit the 6-to-1-month window. A familiar, gentle facial in the final week or so is fine if you have had it before without a reaction.
- Plan eyebrow embroidery and lip blush for at least three months before, so healing and the review appointment are complete; both are priced at consultation. Lip blush and lip filler need to be sequenced with care.
- Injectables are a doctor's decision and timing matters most: Dr Sin Yong sees brides at IN Eternity Clinic, Pacific Plaza, ideally 6 months or more ahead, with filler and any first wrinkle-relaxing injections placed well clear of the wedding and the pre-wedding shoot. Priced at consultation.
The principle
Plan backwards from the date
Treatments settle at different speeds. Some, such as skin courses and energy-based lifting, build gradually over weeks to months. Some, such as fillers, need time for swelling to go down and for a review. Some, such as eyebrow embroidery, have a healing phase and a touch-up. A few are never worth starting close to a date, because an unexpected reaction would have no time to settle.
So the plan starts with the date written down, along with the pre-wedding shoot, any solemnisation or tea ceremony, and the honeymoon, because each is its own deadline. Then treatments are slotted in so that anything new happens early, and the final weeks are for repeating what you already know works.
Dr Sin Yong's own bridal timeline, which covers the medical side in more detail, uses the same rule: start what needs review early, finish what needs healing early, and begin nothing new in the last two weeks.
At a glance
The bridal skin timeline in one table
These are planning frames, not promises about how long any treatment takes to work. Your exact schedule is set at assessment, and individual results vary.
| When | Focus | At SkinRev Lab | With Dr Sin Yong (IN Eternity Clinic) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 months out | Assess; treat acne, pigment and scars; settle a routine | First HydraFacial to see how your skin responds | Acne, melasma or scar plans; resurfacing with a healing phase |
| 6 months out | Courses that build over time; structural decisions | Rejuran® PDRN Facial or Needleless SkinBooster course; SKINLIFT® course; brows | Filler decisions; energy-based lifting such as VF Lift (performed at SkinRev Lab) |
| 3 months out | Review and adjust; last window for anything with a healing phase | Continue courses; lip blush and brow touch-ups completed | First wrinkle-relaxing injection if you have never had one |
| 1 month out | Final adjustments only | Last booster or Rejuran® session; HydraFacial | Review of earlier treatments; no new filler or laser |
| Final 2 weeks | Nothing new | Only a familiar, gentle facial, if any | No injections, lasers or peels |
12 months out
Twelve months out: sort out what takes longest
A year out is the time to deal with anything slow. Active acne comes first, because a calm canvas is the base for everything else and acne control runs over several review cycles. Melasma, Hori's naevus and post-acne marks need a diagnosis and a plan, and pigment lasers are delivered in staged visits with sun protection between them. Acne scar treatments with a healing phase, such as fractional resurfacing, belong here so that redness and any darkening are long gone by the day.
On the non-medical side, use these months to settle a routine you will not change later: a gentle cleanser, a moisturiser that suits Singapore's humidity, daily broad-spectrum sunscreen, and one active at a time. A first HydraFacial now tells you how your skin responds, so there are no surprises later.
6 months out
Six months out: courses and structural decisions
Six months gives room for treatments that work as a course. The Rejuran® PDRN Facial (needle-free, 60 to 90 minutes, from S$128) and the Needleless SkinBooster (S$288 per region, first region from S$98) are planned as a series for texture, hydration and overall skin quality. Polynucleotide treatments show promise, but a systematic review found the studies, mostly of injected products, were of low to moderate quality, so expectations should stay modest. A needle-free facial also works through the skin surface, and intact skin limits how far larger molecules travel, so results from injection studies cannot simply be assumed to carry over.
If the jawline or under-chin is a concern, SKINLIFT® (30 minutes, no numbing, Face S$888 or Double Chin S$488 per session) is planned as a course, because lifting from energy-based treatments develops gradually; in a study of focused ultrasound, changes were measured at 90 days. Dr Sin Yong also performs VF Lift, his monopolar radiofrequency vertical facelift protocol, himself at SkinRev Lab; it is priced at consultation.
This is also the window for eyebrow embroidery, so the brows have healed and settled long before the wedding. And if you are considering dermal fillers, see Dr Sin Yong now rather than later.
3 months out
Three months out: review, adjust, and finish anything that heals
Around three months out, the work is reviewing rather than starting new directions. Skin courses are continued or stopped depending on how your skin has responded. This is the last comfortable window for anything with a healing phase; if something would be squeezed in, it is usually better left until after the wedding.
Brows and lip blush should be finished by now, including the review appointment. If you have never had wrinkle-relaxing injections and want them for the wedding, this is when Dr Sin Yong would usually do a first visit, so your response and the dose that suits you are known before a final, timed visit.
- Continue HydraFacial every four to six weeks, or less often if your skin is calm.
- Keep sunscreen strict; a tan or sunburn now can delay other treatments.
- Book the make-up trial for a day when nothing new has been done to your skin.
- Stress affects skin: in one study, students' acne worsened during exams in step with their stress, so protect sleep where you can.
1 month out
One month out: final adjustments only
In the last month, the plan narrows to repeating what you already know suits you: the last session of a Rejuran® PDRN Facial or Needleless SkinBooster course, a HydraFacial, and a review of anything done earlier. Nothing in this window should be a first try.
No new filler is started this close, because swelling, bruising and the small chance of needing a correction need time that is no longer available. No new laser, peel, resurfacing or skincare active is started either, because a healing phase or a flare could still be visible on the day.
The final week
The week of the wedding
The final two weeks are for protecting what you have. A gentle, familiar facial in the last week or so is reasonable, but only one you have had before with no reaction, with extraction kept light or skipped so there are no marks. HydraFacial is a common choice because make-up can usually go on the same day, but it is not the moment to try a new booster.
Everything else is about avoiding surprises.
- No injections, lasers, peels, waxing of the face or new products.
- No squeezing spots; ask for help instead.
- Sunscreen and shade, especially for an outdoor shoot or a beach honeymoon departure.
- Plenty of water and sleep; limit alcohol and very salty food the night before to reduce puffiness.
- If a spot appears, a doctor can advise; do not attack it with strong actives.
Injectables
When to see Dr Sin Yong about injectables
Injectables are medical treatments, performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic, 9 Scotts Road, #12-01 Pacific Plaza, beside Orchard MRT, and priced at consultation. Timing matters more for brides than for anyone else, because the date cannot move.
Dermal fillers are ideally planned six months or more ahead, so the product can settle and there is time for review, adjustment or, if needed, dissolving. Early side effects include bruising and swelling, and rarer complications need prompt management, which is why filler is never started in the final month. For wrinkle-relaxing injections, a first visit around three months out shows how you respond, and a final visit about a month before lets the effect settle by the day. The pre-wedding shoot counts as its own deadline: flash and heavy make-up show swelling and bruising.
Brows and lips
Eyebrow embroidery and lip blush before a wedding
Eyebrow embroidery and lip blush are cosmetic tattooing. Colour looks deeper and sharper for the first days and softens as the skin heals, and a review appointment after healing is recommended so anything that settled unevenly can be refined. That is why both should be finished at least three months before the wedding, and earlier if you can. Both are priced at consultation.
Lips need extra planning. If you are prone to cold sores, agree a preventive plan with a doctor beforehand. A review of permanent make-up notes that tattooed areas can shift or look different if fillers or local anaesthetic are later placed in the same area, so if you want both lip filler and lip blush, decide the order with your providers rather than booking them back to back.
Short on time
If the wedding is only weeks away
With a month or less, keep it simple. A HydraFacial or a hydrating facial you have had before, good sleep, strict sunscreen and a steady routine will do more than anything new. Leave injectables, lasers, peels, brows and lip blush until after the wedding unless you have had them before and your provider is comfortable with the timing.
SkinRev Lab is at CityLink Mall #B1-28, underground between City Hall and Esplanade MRT, open daily from 11am to 8pm, so sessions can fit around fittings and planning appointments. Grooms are welcome too; the same timeline applies.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
When should I start my skincare before the wedding?
Ideally 6 to 12 months before. That leaves time to bring acne and pigment under control, to complete any course that builds gradually, and to finish anything with a healing phase well before the day.
When should I get a facial before my wedding?
Have your regular facials through the months before, then a familiar, gentle one in the last week or so. Only choose a facial you have had before without a reaction, and keep extraction light so there are no marks.
Can I get a HydraFacial the day before my wedding?
It is safer a few days to a week before, and only if you have had HydraFacial before. Most people can wear make-up the same day, but leaving a little margin allows for any flushing or a surfacing spot to settle.
How long before the wedding should I get filler?
Ideally plan it six months or more ahead and never in the final month, so swelling and bruising have settled and there is time for review. Dr Sin Yong assesses this at IN Eternity Clinic, priced at consultation.
When should I get wrinkle-relaxing injections before a wedding?
If you have never had them, a first visit around three months out shows how you respond. A final visit about a month before lets the effect settle in time. Avoid the final two weeks before the wedding and the pre-wedding shoot.
How long before the wedding should I do eyebrow embroidery?
At least three months before, so the brows have healed and the review appointment is done. Colour looks darker for the first days before it softens. Brows are priced at consultation at SkinRev Lab.
What should I avoid two weeks before my wedding?
Anything new: injections, lasers, peels, extractions, new skincare actives, facial waxing and strong sun. Stick to the routine and treatments you already know suit you.
Is a Rejuran® facial good before a wedding?
It can be part of a plan for texture and hydration, ideally as a course starting a few months ahead. The evidence for polynucleotides is promising but limited, so treat it as skin-quality support rather than a dramatic change.
Should the groom do anything?
Yes, the same principles apply. A facial rhythm, sunscreen and sleep help, and any injectable or laser plan should follow the same timeline.
