The SAM Conference is the annual meeting of the Society of Aesthetic Medicine (Singapore). In July 2026, at PARKROYAL on Beach Road, Dr Sin Yong presented “Second Gen Microwave Technology for Body Contouring” on the HIRONIC Miglou platform, distributed in Singapore by IDS Medical Systems.
His talk covered why the microwave band, around 2.45 GHz, is taken up mainly by fatty tissue while contact cooling protects the skin surface, and how one treatment reaches three tissues: subcutaneous fat, the septa behind the dimpled look of cellulite, and dermal collagen. Dr Lim Tingsong and Dr Elias Tam presented other body contouring methods in the same session.
