Weak Chin & Jawline Treatment in Singapore
A short or set-back chin changes the whole lower-face profile. Sometimes the fix is support at the chin rather than tightening the jaw.

A weak chin sits further back than the lips and nose, or looks short from mouth to jaw. In profile the neck seems to run straight into the face, the jawline lacks a clear edge, and a double chin may look worse than it is. People often notice it in side-angle selfies or video calls. A thoughtful weak chin treatment in Singapore starts by asking whether the issue is bone shape, age-related change, loose soft tissue, or a mix of these.
Most weak chins are built in. The lower jaw may be smaller or set further back, which is common in East Asian faces and often runs in families. Others develop with age. Bone at the front of the jaw slowly thins, especially in the dip just in front of the jowl, so the jawline breaks into a scalloped outline. Skin and the muscle sheet under the jaw loosen as well, so the angle between chin and neck becomes softer.
Because the cause differs, so does the answer. When bone support is lacking, adding projection at the chin and along the jaw is often what changes the profile, and that is a medical injection. When the main issue is soft, loose tissue under the jaw, tightening can sharpen the edge. At SkinRev Lab we handle non-invasive tightening. Chin and jawline fillers are performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic.

“Tightening can firm the tissue around a chin, but it cannot bring the chin forward; that needs structural support.”

What goes where
The honest ladder:
non-invasive first, medical when it is needed
At SkinRev Lab · non-invasive
SKINLIFT® — N-pulse focused ultrasound tightens loose tissue along the jawline and under the chin in about 30 minutes. It can sharpen the jaw edge when laxity blurs it, but it does not add projection to a set-back chin. Read more

Chin Filler — Hyaluronic acid filler placed deep at the chin to bring it forward or lengthen it, improving balance with the nose and lips. Performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic after profile analysis and photographs. How it works
Dermal Fillers — Hyaluronic acid filler along the jaw angle and prejowl dip to restore a continuous jawline where bone has thinned with age. Often combined with chin filler so that the lower face is treated as one unit rather than one point. How it works
Enquiries to SkinRev Lab about medical treatments are passed to IN Eternity Clinic, where Dr Sin Yong performs them.
Start with SKINLIFT® at SkinRev Lab if your chin position looks fine in profile and the jawline has softened mainly because of loose skin under the jaw. See the doctor first if your chin sits behind your lower lip in profile, if your chin dimples or strains when you close your mouth, if the jawline has a dip in front of the jowl, or if you have had fillers before. Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic will look at your bite, profile and bone support, and explain whether filler, tightening, both, or a surgical opinion suits your face. Bite problems may also need a dental view.

What the research says
The evidence,
with sources
A randomised, evaluator-blinded study in Chinese adults compared a flexible hyaluronic acid filler with no treatment for mild to moderate chin retrusion. Blinded evaluators rated the treated group as clearly better than controls at six months, and most treated participants still showed improvement at twelve months, with an acceptable safety profile. A review of facial skeletal ageing explains why the jawline changes with age: the prejowl part of the lower jaw is one of the areas that resorbs, which weakens support for the soft tissue in front of the jowl.
Safety deserves equal weight. A review of reported cases of vision loss after filler injection found the event rare but serious, with the nose, glabella and forehead the most common sites and most cases involving hyaluronic acid. The chin is a lower-risk area, but every filler injection carries some risk of blocking a blood vessel. This is why chin filler is a doctor-performed procedure, with knowledge of the local vessels and a plan to manage complications.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
What does weak chin treatment in Singapore involve without surgery?
For most people it means hyaluronic acid filler placed deep at the chin, and sometimes along the jaw, to add projection and length. Filler changes shape at the time of injection, so the profile can usually be judged once swelling settles over a week or two. Tightening treatments such as SKINLIFT® at SkinRev Lab can firm loose tissue under the jaw. Filler is performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic after a profile assessment.
How much does weak chin treatment in Singapore cost?
Chin and jawline filler is a medical treatment, so pricing is given at consultation with Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic. It depends on how much projection you need and whether the jaw is treated too. At SkinRev Lab, SKINLIFT® for the face is S$888 and for the double chin S$488 (before GST), if tightening is part of your plan.
Is chin filler safe?
It is a common procedure, and the chin is considered a lower-risk area than the nose or forehead. Bruising, swelling and tenderness are usual for a few days. Rarer risks include lumps, infection and filler entering a blood vessel, which can damage skin. Doctors reduce risk by injecting deep, slowly and with knowledge of the vessels, and hyaluronic acid can be dissolved if needed.
How long does chin filler last?
Hyaluronic acid breaks down gradually. In a randomised study of chin filler, most treated people still showed improvement at twelve months. How long it lasts for you depends on the product, the amount used, your metabolism and how much the chin muscle moves. A review is usually planned to check the result and decide whether and when a touch-up is needed.
Will chin filler make my face look longer?
It can, if placed to add vertical length, which is sometimes the goal for a short chin. If your face is already long, the doctor focuses on forward projection instead. The aim is balance between forehead, nose, lips and chin. Dr Sin Yong will show you on photographs what changes and what does not before treatment.
Can a weak chin make a double chin look worse?
Yes. A set-back chin gives the tissue under the jaw less to stretch over, so fullness collects and the chin-neck angle softens. Some people with a mild double chin find that adding chin projection improves the profile more than fat reduction. An assessment can show which part contributes more in your case.
