CO2 laser price in Singapore: what shapes the cost of fractional CO2 resurfacing

Fractional CO2 laser is one of the more powerful tools for acne scars and texture, and it asks more of your recovery than most lasers. Quotes vary with the scar type, the area and the plan around the laser. This guide explains the factors, including the cost that is not on the quote: downtime.

Quick answer

  • The cost of fractional CO2 laser depends on what is treated (acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks or texture), the size of the area, the depth and density chosen, and the number of sessions.
  • Many scar plans combine CO2 with subcision for rolling scars or TCA CROSS for ice pick scars, which changes the total. Several days of redness and flaking are part of the real cost, so plan time off.
  • At SkinRev Lab and IN Eternity Clinic, fractional CO2 laser (DEKA Tetra Pro, S3 protocol) is performed by Dr Sin Yong after assessment, and it is priced at consultation.

How it works

What you are paying for in CO2 resurfacing

A fractional CO2 laser removes microscopic columns of skin, through the surface and into the dermis, while leaving the skin between them intact. As the columns heal, the skin produces new collagen and remodels, which softens scars and refines texture. The depth and density of the columns are adjusted to each area and, for scars, scar by scar.

A 2022 international consensus on energy-based devices for acne scars agreed that these devices have a role in treatment, with ablative fractional lasers among those most experts preferred, and considered them a first-line option for many scar types. The skill lies in matching settings to the scars and the skin.

The factors

What changes the cost

Because these factors are individual, a fair price can only be given after the scars and skin have been examined. Medical treatments at SkinRev Lab are priced at consultation.

  • What is treated: deep boxcar and rolling acne scars, surgical scars, stretch marks and general texture need different settings and numbers of sessions.
  • Area: a few scars on the cheeks, the full face, the neck or a body area take different amounts of time.
  • Depth and density: deeper, denser settings do more but need longer recovery and more care in Asian skin.
  • Number of sessions: scar plans often need more than one session, spaced to allow full healing.
  • Combined treatment: subcision for tethered rolling scars, TCA CROSS for ice pick scars, or a staged programme such as 4D Scar Reconstruction.
  • Aftercare: numbing, wound care products, sun protection and review visits.

Downtime

Downtime: the cost that is not on the quote

After fractional CO2, most people have several days of redness, swelling and fine crusting or flaking, followed by pinkness that fades over the following weeks. Deeper settings take longer. That recovery time is part of the true cost, especially if you need to be at work, on camera or travelling.

Asian skin can develop post-inflammatory pigmentation after resurfacing. Preparing the skin when advised, strict sun protection afterwards and following aftercare reduce that risk, and they matter as much as the laser settings.

Plan the timing around your calendar. Many people book on a Thursday or Friday so the most visible days fall over a weekend, and avoid scheduling resurfacing just before travel to sunny places, a wedding or an important presentation.

Comparing quotes

How to compare CO2 laser prices fairly

Ask what scar types have been identified and how each will be treated, whether CO2 alone is enough or other treatments are needed, how many sessions are expected and how far apart, and what aftercare and reviews are included. Ask who performs the treatment and which device and protocol are used.

A cheaper single session that treats every scar the same way may leave ice pick or rolling scars largely unchanged. A plan that matches the method to each scar type usually reaches a better result per dollar spent, even if the first quote is higher.

Common questions

Your questions,
answered

How much does CO2 laser cost in Singapore?

It depends on what is treated, the area, the depth and density, the number of sessions and any combined treatment. At SkinRev Lab and IN Eternity Clinic, it is performed by Dr Sin Yong and priced at consultation.

How many CO2 laser sessions will I need?

It depends on the scars and the settings. Some plans need one session, others several spaced to allow full healing. Dr Sin Yong estimates this at consultation.

Is CO2 laser worth the downtime?

For deep or extensive scarring and texture, it is often one of the more effective options. It suits people who can plan several days of recovery.

Can CO2 laser treat all acne scars?

Not on its own. Ice pick scars often need TCA CROSS and tethered rolling scars need subcision, so many plans combine methods.

Is CO2 laser safe for Asian skin?

It can be used with appropriate settings, skin preparation and strict sun protection. Post-inflammatory pigmentation is the main risk.

Who performs CO2 laser at SkinRev Lab?

Dr Sin Yong performs it at SkinRev Lab or IN Eternity Clinic, and it is priced at consultation.

What should I avoid before CO2 laser?

Avoid tanning and strong sun for several weeks, and tell the doctor about retinoids, isotretinoin, cold sores, and any tendency to dark marks or raised scars after injury. If you pigment easily, Dr Sin Yong may suggest preparing the skin first, and antiviral cover may be advised if you get cold sores.
