Quick answer
- An overfilled, puffy or uneven look after filler is common and often correctable. The key is knowing what product is there, where it sits, and how much to remove.

- Assessment first; individual results vary. Medical pricing is given at consultation.
Filler problems can creep up slowly. Cheeks sit too far forward when you smile, the mid-face looks heavy or wide, the lips have a ledge or lumps, the under-eyes look puffy or bluish, or your jawline and bone structure seem softer than before. Some people notice swelling that comes and goes, especially in the mornings or after salty food. Many search for how to dissolve filler in Singapore after years of touch-ups that each seemed small at the time.
Several things drive this look. Repeated touch-ups can add up because hyaluronic acid filler often lasts much longer than people are told, so new product layers over older product. Filler placed in the wrong layer or area can drift or spread, a process called migration. Hyaluronic acid also attracts water, so a large total volume can make tissues look puffy. Over time, the face also changes underneath, and filler that once suited you may no longer fit your proportions.
Most hyaluronic acid filler can be broken down with a dissolving enzyme injected into the product. Correction is safest as a mapped, selective process: identify which areas are causing the problem, remove filler there in measured stages, wait for the tissues to settle, and only then decide whether anything needs to be added back. Some fillers are not hyaluronic acid, and these cannot be dissolved the same way.

“Not every face that looks overfilled needs everything dissolved, and not every filler can be dissolved, so we map first and remove only what is causing the problem.”

- Common signs
- Forward-set or wide cheeks, mid-face heaviness, lip ledges or lumps, puffy under-eyes, softened jawline
- Main causes
- Cumulative touch-ups, product in the wrong layer, migration, water-binding of large volumes, facial ageing underneath
- What can be dissolved
- Hyaluronic acid filler; calcium-based and collagen-stimulating fillers do not respond to the dissolving enzyme
- Imaging
- High-frequency ultrasound can show where filler sits and map nearby blood vessels before injection
- Enzyme action
- Usually works over roughly 24 to 72 hours, with the result reviewed after the tissues settle
- Before any new filler
- A gap of at least two weeks after dissolving, and often longer, so proportions can be judged properly
What goes where
The honest ladder:
non-invasive first, medical when it is needed
At SkinRev Lab · non-invasive
There is no non-invasive treatment at SkinRev Lab that changes this concern. We will say so at the first visit and pass your enquiry to IN Eternity Clinic.
At IN Eternity Clinic · Dr Sin Yong
Pillow Face Correction — For a puffy, overfilled or wide mid-face, the doctor maps where filler sits, using ultrasound guidance, and dissolves it selectively in the zones driving the look, often in planned stages. Performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic. How it works
Filler Correction — For migrated filler, lumps, lip ledges, under-eye puffiness or an uneven result, the doctor identifies the product and dissolves hyaluronic acid filler where needed, then reviews before any refinement. Performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic. How it works
Enquiries to SkinRev Lab about medical treatments are passed to IN Eternity Clinic, where Dr Sin Yong performs them.
Filler correction is a medical treatment, so SkinRev does not perform it; enquiries made at SkinRev are routed to IN Eternity Clinic. It suits people who feel their face looks heavier, wider or less like themselves after filler, those with lumps, migration or persistent swelling, and anyone who wants a reset before deciding on future treatment. It helps to bring any records of the product, area and date of past injections, though imaging can help when these are unknown. Tell the doctor about any allergies, particularly to bee or wasp stings, and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Seek urgent medical help, not a routine appointment, if skin near a recent injection turns pale, dusky or mottled, becomes very painful, or if you notice any change in vision.

What the research says
The evidence,
with sources
Hyaluronic acid filler may last much longer than commonly assumed. In an MRI study of 33 people who had received mid-face filler, product was still visible in every person at least two years after injection, and in some cases many years later, even though most had not been treated for several years. This helps explain how repeated touch-ups can build up and why a careful assessment of what is already present matters before any new treatment. Ultrasound can also show existing filler deposits and map blood vessels, and allows the dissolving enzyme to be injected directly into a deposit.
A guideline from a UK complications collaborative describes the dissolving enzyme as the main tool for reversing cross-linked hyaluronic acid filler in situations including excess or misplaced product, delayed nodules and vascular emergencies. It recommends treating to effect rather than using fixed doses, reassessing after about 48 hours, and waiting at least two weeks before injecting new filler. It notes that true allergic reactions are rare but possible, with a higher risk in people who have reacted strongly to bee or wasp stings. Individual results vary.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
How does it work when you dissolve filler in Singapore at IN Eternity Clinic?
Dr Sin Yong first reviews your history and examines your face, using ultrasound where helpful to see where filler sits. Numbing cream is applied, and a dissolving enzyme is injected through a fine needle into the areas causing the problem. Larger amounts are often treated in stages a few weeks apart, with a review once swelling has settled before any further step.
Will dissolving filler make my face look older or hollow?
Right after dissolving, some areas can look flatter for a few days while swelling settles and the tissue rehydrates. Because the enzyme also affects your own natural hyaluronic acid briefly, which the body replaces within about a day, this is usually temporary. The final look is judged after a couple of weeks. If you then feel some support is needed, smaller, better-placed amounts can be considered.
Can all fillers be dissolved?
No. The enzyme breaks down hyaluronic acid filler only. Calcium-based fillers and collagen-stimulating fillers do not respond to it, and non-absorbable synthetic fillers behave differently again. If you are unsure what was used, bring any records you have, and the doctor can use your history and imaging to judge what is likely present and what options exist for the product involved.
How soon can I have filler again after I dissolve filler in Singapore?
Guidance generally suggests waiting at least two weeks after dissolving before any new filler, and many doctors prefer a longer gap of four to six weeks. This lets swelling settle and your true proportions show, so any further treatment is based on your face as it actually is. Many people find they need far less than before, or none at all.
How much does it cost?
Filler dissolving and correction are medical treatments performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic, and pricing is given at consultation. The cost depends on how many areas are involved, how much product is present and whether staged sessions are needed. You can begin your enquiry at SkinRev at CityLink Mall and it will be passed to IN Eternity Clinic.
Is it safe, and what are the side effects?
Dissolving is a common, well-described procedure in trained medical hands. Expect small injection marks, swelling, tenderness and possible bruising for a few days. Allergic reactions are uncommon but possible, so the doctor asks about allergies and insect-sting reactions beforehand. Plan important events at least two weeks after treatment, and avoid massaging the area unless you are advised to.
