Wrinkle Treatment in Singapore

Expression lines, lines at rest and crepey texture each come from a different layer of the skin. Matching the treatment to the layer is what makes the difference.

Quick answer

Fine lines usually appear first where the face moves most: across the forehead, between the brows and at the outer corners of the eyes. Some lines show only when you frown or smile. Others stay when the face is at rest, or appear as crepey texture on the cheeks. Sensible wrinkle treatment in Singapore starts by telling these apart, because a line made by muscle movement and a line made by thin, dry skin respond to very different approaches.

Two processes run side by side. Natural ageing slowly reduces collagen, elastin and the skin's own hyaluronic acid. Photoageing adds damage from ultraviolet light, and in a sunny city near the equator that exposure adds up all year. Repeated muscle movement then folds the weakened skin along the same creases many times a day. Dehydration, smoking, poor sleep and rapid weight change can make lines look deeper than they really are.

Surface lines from dryness or rough texture often soften with non-invasive skin care. Lines driven by muscle movement, or lines already etched into the dermis, usually need a medical treatment performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic. Many people end up with a mix of both. The sections below explain which lines tend to respond to which wrinkle treatment, what the published evidence shows, and how to decide where to start.

“A frown line made by muscle and a crepey line made by thin, dry skin are different problems, and no single facial or injection fixes both.”

— Dr Sin Yong, IN Eternity Clinic
Types
Dynamic (expression) lines, static lines at rest, and fine crepey texture
Main causes
Collagen and elastin loss with age, UV photoageing, repeated muscle movement, dehydration
Layers involved
Epidermis, roughly 0.05–0.1 mm thick on the face, and the collagen-rich dermis beneath it
Fractional laser zones
Microscopic heat columns about 0.1 mm wide and 0.3 mm deep in the original studies
Common areas
Forehead, frown area, crow's feet, under-eye, cheeks and around the mouth

What goes where

The honest ladder:
non-invasive first, medical when it is needed

At SkinRev Lab · non-invasive

SKINTIGHT® — Alma PrimeX microplasma and UltraWave energy work on the surface layer to smooth fine texture and tighten it a little. It helps crepey, surface lines; it does not relax expression muscles or fill deeper folds. Read more

Needleless SkinBooster — Hydrating boosters are pushed into the skin without needles, which can plump dry, fine lines for a period. It suits dehydration lines rather than lines from frowning or squinting. Read more

Rejuran® PDRN Facial (needle-free) — A topical c-PDRN facial, delivered without injection, aimed at overall skin quality. It is a gentle choice for texture and early fine lines, with a more modest effect than injected treatments. Read more

Wrinkle-Relaxing Injections — A neuromodulator injected in small amounts relaxes the specific muscles that crease the forehead, frown area and crow's feet. It is designed for dynamic lines; it does not add volume or hydration. How it works

Injectable Skin Boosters — Micro-droplets of hyaluronic acid, polynucleotides or PDLLA are placed in the dermis to improve hydration and fine crepey texture, particularly on the cheeks, under the eyes and on the neck. How it works

Bio-Remodelling HA Injections — High-concentration hyaluronic acid injected at a few set points spreads through the skin to improve hydration and firmness across a region. It suits diffuse fine lines rather than one deep crease. How it works

FSX Laser — A non-ablative fractional laser protocol using thulium and erbium-glass passes. Tiny heat zones prompt new collagen while most of the surface stays intact, which suits fine lines and rough texture. How it works

Enquiries to SkinRev Lab about medical treatments are passed to IN Eternity Clinic, where Dr Sin Yong performs them.

Start non-invasive if your lines are mostly surface texture, if your skin often feels tight or dry, or if you are in your twenties or early thirties and want to look after skin quality. See the doctor first if lines remain when your face is at rest, if a frown line has deepened into a groove, or if you have had facials regularly for a few months with little change. Mention pregnancy, breastfeeding, any neuromuscular condition or blood-thinning medicine, because some injectables are not suitable. A combined plan is common: a medical treatment for the lines that need it, and skin care to keep the surface in good condition.

What the research says

The evidence,
with sources

The biology behind lines is well described. A review of skin-ageing mechanisms explains that ultraviolet light from the sun is the main environmental driver of skin ageing, that the damage builds up with exposure, and that it shares molecular pathways with ordinary ageing (Fisher et al.). Fractional laser treatment grew out of a 2004 study showing that microscopic heat columns about 0.1 mm wide let the surface heal within a day while still prompting dermal remodelling and a measurable softening of fine lines around the eyes (Manstein et al.).

For injectables, a meta-analysis of randomised, placebo-controlled studies of wrinkle-relaxing injections in the upper face found that side effects were generally mild to moderate, such as headache, bruising and, less often, a heavy or drooping eyelid, which is why dose and placement matter (Jia et al.). A 2025 meta-analysis of hyaluronic acid injected into the skin found better hydration and radiance than controls but no significant change in elasticity, a useful reminder that boosters improve skin quality rather than lift (Zhou and Yu).

Common questions

Your questions,
answered

What is the most suitable wrinkle treatment in Singapore for forehead and frown lines?

It depends on whether the lines move. If they appear mainly when you raise your brows or frown, wrinkle-relaxing injections performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic target the muscles responsible. If the lines stay at rest, they have usually become etched into the skin, and a booster or fractional laser may be added. A short assessment of your face, both moving and at rest, decides the plan.

Can a facial get rid of wrinkles?

A facial can soften fine lines caused by dehydration and make skin look smoother for a while, because hydrated skin reflects light more evenly. It cannot relax the muscles that cause expression lines, and it does not rebuild collagen in the dermis to any great degree. Facials at SkinRev are a good fit for surface texture and maintenance, while deeper or moving lines are better assessed by a doctor.

How much does wrinkle treatment in Singapore cost?

Medical treatments such as injections, boosters and lasers are priced at consultation at IN Eternity Clinic, because the plan depends on which lines you have and how many areas are treated. At SkinRev, SKINTIGHT is S$588, the Needleless SkinBooster is S$288 per region, and the Rejuran® PDRN Facial is S$128–S$348. Ask about everything included before you commit to any plan.

Will wrinkle-relaxing injections make my face look frozen?

Not if the dose and placement suit your face. The aim is to soften the creases while keeping natural expression, and the amount used can be adjusted at review. A frozen look usually comes from treating too many muscles too strongly. Individual results vary, and some people prefer a lighter first treatment to see how their muscles respond before anything is added.

How many sessions will I need?

Wrinkle-relaxing injections wear off gradually as muscle movement returns, so they are repeated when you notice the lines coming back, usually after some months. Skin boosters and fractional lasers work through gradual collagen and hydration changes, so a course is usually planned at consultation with sessions spaced weeks apart. Non-invasive treatments at SkinRev are often repeated regularly as maintenance.

Is there downtime after treatment for fine lines?

SkinRev treatments usually allow you to go straight back to work, sometimes with mild redness. After injections, small bumps settle within hours and a bruise is possible. Skin boosters can leave tiny raised marks for a day or two. After a fractional laser, expect redness and warmth for some hours and possibly light flaking over a few days. Dr Sin Yong explains the likely recovery at consultation.
