Temple filler in Singapore uses hyaluronic acid (HA) filler to soften hollowing at the sides of the forehead, between the outer brow and the hairline. Temple hollowing makes the upper face look narrower, emphasises the bony eye socket and cheekbone, and can make someone look gaunt or older than they feel. People also ask about it for a smoother, rounder upper-face outline, which is valued in many East Asian faces.
Hollowing develops as the fat in the temple thins with age, weight loss or high levels of exercise, and as the bone around the eye socket recedes. Temple filler is performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic. It is often considered together with cheek and forehead contour, because the upper face reads as one curve.

How it works
The mechanism,
in plain English
The temple has several layers: skin, subcutaneous fat, the superficial temporal fascia (where the superficial temporal artery and its frontal branch run), a fat pad between the fascia layers, the deep temporal fascia, the temporalis muscle and finally bone. There are two common approaches. A deep injection on the bone under the temporalis muscle, usually with a needle at a defined point, places a small bolus away from the superficial vessels. A cannula technique places soft gel between the superficial and deep temporal fasciae to spread the volume more evenly.
Each layer has its own risks. The superficial temporal artery and the middle temporal vein can be injured or entered, and the temple vessels connect to deeper circulation. Choosing the plane, knowing where vessels usually run, aspirating or moving slowly, and using ultrasound to see vessels in real time where useful, all help. Softer, spreadable HA gels are usually chosen for the superficial plane, and firmer gels for the deep plane on bone.
“In the temple, choosing the right layer is the treatment; the amount of filler comes second.”

Is it right for you
Who it suits,
and who it does not
Temple filler usually suits adults with visible temple hollowing from ageing, weight loss or a lean build, and people whose upper face looks narrow or skeletal compared with the cheeks. It can make the eye area and cheekbones look softer and better connected, and often pairs well with cheek support for a more even upper-face contour.
Temple filler is not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over skin infection, or for people with a history of severe allergic reaction to fillers. Anyone with temporal artery disease, migraines worsened by facial procedures, or a bleeding tendency should discuss it first. If temple hollowing is mild and the skin is thin, a biostimulator may be a gentler choice. Overfilling the temples can make the upper face look wide and swollen, so restraint matters.
What to expect
Consultation, session
and aftercare
At consultation, Dr Sin Yong examines the temple contour from the front and side, feels for the temporal artery pulse, and asks about previous fillers. He explains which plane suits your anatomy and whether ultrasound will help in your case. On the day, the area is cleaned, the hair is moved away, and numbing cream may be used. Injection takes a short time.
Afterwards, the temples may feel tender, swollen or slightly achy when chewing for a few days, because the temporalis is a chewing muscle. Bruising is possible. Avoid pressing on the area, strenuous exercise and saunas for a day or two. Any increasing pain, skin colour change or vision problems need urgent attention. A review is usually arranged a few weeks later.

What the research says
The evidence,
with sources
A multicentre randomised controlled study gave adults with temple hollowing either a 20 mg/mL HA filler or no treatment. At three months, most of the treated group improved by at least one grade in both temples on a validated scale, compared with only a small minority of untreated controls, and the response remained high through the end of follow-up. Adverse events and injection-site reactions were mostly mild and consistent with the known profile of fillers.
A 2026 meta-analysis of seven studies found HA injected between the superficial and deep temporal fasciae was effective, and recommended small volumes and cannula placement into defined layers. An Asian expert group also published recommendations for ultrasound-guided HA in the upper face, noting that the vessels of the temple and forehead vary from person to person and that ultrasound-guided placement adds a safety measure where that variation exists.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
How much does temple filler in Singapore cost?
The cost depends on how hollow the temples are, the plane used and how much filler is needed, so pricing is given at your consultation with Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic. SkinRev Lab does not inject fillers. Our team can take your enquiry and help you book an assessment.
Is temple filler in Singapore safe?
Temple filler is generally safe when the right plane is chosen and the injector knows the anatomy. The superficial temporal artery and middle temporal vein run through the area, and the temple circulation connects with deeper vessels, so vascular events, while rare, are possible. Slow injection in defined layers, ultrasound where useful and access to hyaluronidase help prevent and manage problems.
Why does my jaw ache after temple filler?
The temporalis muscle, which helps you chew, sits under the temple. Filler placed deep on the bone sits beneath it, so for a few days chewing can feel achy or stiff. This usually settles on its own. If pain is increasing rather than easing, or the skin changes colour, contact the clinic urgently.
How long does temple filler last?
It varies by product and area. The temple is a relatively still area, but individual results depend on the gel, the plane and your metabolism. Because HA can persist in tissue longer than it is visible, repeat treatment is not automatic; your face is reassessed at each visit.
Needle or cannula for temples?
Both are used. A needle allows a precise small bolus deep on the bone under the muscle, away from the superficial vessels. A blunt cannula spreads softer gel more evenly in the layer between the fasciae and may reduce bruising. The choice depends on your anatomy and how much correction is needed, and Dr Sin Yong will explain his reasoning at consultation.
Can temple filler lift my brows or eyes?
Temple filler can give a subtle support to the outer brow and make the eye area look less hollow, but it is not a brow lift. If the brow is heavy or droopy, wrinkle-relaxing injections, energy-based lifting or surgery may be more effective. Temple filler is more accurately seen as contour restoration rather than a lifting treatment.
