Cheek filler in Singapore uses hyaluronic acid (HA) filler to restore volume and support in the midface: the cheekbone, the front of the cheek and the area under the eye socket. People usually ask about it when their face looks flatter or more tired than it used to, when the cheeks have hollowed, or when the cheekbones lack definition from the side. In many East Asian faces, the midface is naturally flatter, and a little lateral support can add shape.
As we age, the deep fat compartments of the midface shrink and the bone along the eye socket and upper jaw slowly recedes. The soft tissue above then slides down, which deepens the nasolabial folds and can make jowls look heavier. Cheek filler rebuilds some of that lost support. It is performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic, never at SkinRev Lab.

How it works
The mechanism,
in plain English
A volumising, medium-to-high firmness HA gel, often around 20 mg/mL, is placed deep on the bone along the zygoma (cheekbone) and in the deep medial cheek fat compartment. Deep placement gives lift and support with smaller amounts than superficial injection. A needle may be used for small deep boluses on bone, and a blunt cannula for the deep fat compartments, which can reduce bruising.
The midface has important vessels: the infraorbital artery emerges from a small opening below the eye, and the facial and angular arteries run up beside the nose. Knowing their usual paths and variations, injecting slowly in small amounts, and using ultrasound where useful to check vessels and old filler are part of safe technique. Restraint matters too. Too much filler, or filler placed too superficially or too close to the eye, can make the face look wide, heavy and puffy, sometimes called overfilled or 'pillow face'.
“The goal is support in the right place, not fuller cheeks; more filler rarely looks younger.”

Is it right for you
Who it suits,
and who it does not
Cheek filler usually suits adults with age-related midface flattening or hollowing, people with naturally flat cheekbones who want gentle lateral definition, and those whose nasolabial folds or tear troughs look deeper because midface support has dropped. It also suits people who prefer a conservative change that can be built in small steps.
Cheek filler is not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active skin infection or dental infection, or soon after other facial procedures. It is a poor fit for faces that are already full, or for people with significant filler from past treatments, where adding more risks a heavy, puffy look. If the main issue is loose skin rather than lost volume, tightening or lifting may do more. Puffy under-eyes from fat bulging forward are not corrected by cheek filler.
What to expect
Consultation, session
and aftercare
At consultation, Dr Sin Yong assesses your face from the front, sides and in movement, asks about past filler and explains whether cheek filler suits you or whether lifting, a biostimulator or simply less treatment would be better. On the day, the skin is cleaned thoroughly and numbing cream may be applied. Filler is placed in small amounts, and the result is checked with you as treatment goes.
Expect some swelling and tenderness for a few days, and possibly a bruise. Avoid pressing on the cheeks, sleeping face-down, strenuous exercise and saunas for a day or two. Any increasing pain, pale or blotchy skin, or change in vision needs urgent attention, so contact the clinic straight away. A review is usually planned a few weeks later once the filler has settled.

What the research says
The evidence,
with sources
Randomised studies support HA filler for age-related midface volume loss. In a multicentre single-blind study, 235 adults with midface volume deficit were treated with a 20 mg/mL HA filler and compared with 47 untreated controls. At six months, most treated participants had improved by at least one grade on a validated midface scale, significantly more than controls, and the filler was well tolerated with no unexpected device-related effects.
Asian data are relevant for Singapore. A randomised double-blind split-face study in 88 Korean adults compared two HA fillers for midface volume loss with an extended follow-up. Both fillers performed comparably and no serious adverse events occurred. Separately, a world literature review found that while the cheek is not among the highest-risk sites, serious vascular events, including vision loss, have been reported across many facial areas, so anatomy knowledge remains essential.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
How much does cheek filler in Singapore cost?
Cost depends on how much filler is needed and which areas of the midface are treated, so it cannot be judged without seeing you. Pricing is given at your consultation with Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic. SkinRev Lab does not inject fillers, but our team can take your enquiry and help you book. Often, careful placement needs less product than people expect.
Will cheek filler make my face look bigger?
It should not, if done with restraint. Filler placed deep on the bone and in the deep fat compartments gives support with small amounts. Problems arise when too much is used, when it is placed too superficially or near the eyes, or when filler is added again and again. Dr Sin Yong reviews any existing filler first and aims for a face that looks rested, not wider.
Is cheek filler in Singapore safe?
Cheek filler has a good safety record when done carefully. Swelling, tenderness and bruising are common and usually short-lived. Less often, lumps, infection or migration occur. The rare but serious risk is vascular occlusion, where filler blocks a blood vessel. Knowledge of where the infraorbital, facial and angular arteries run, slow injection, ultrasound where useful and access to hyaluronidase all reduce and manage that risk.
How long does cheek filler last?
It varies by product and area. Firmer volumising gels placed on bone in the cheek tend to persist well, and MRI studies show HA can stay in tissue longer than it is visible. That is why maintenance is not automatic: Dr Sin Yong reassesses your face at each visit and adds only what is needed, if anything.
Can cheek filler help my nasolabial folds and jowls?
Sometimes, indirectly. When midface support drops, tissue slides down and deepens the folds. Restoring support high on the cheek can soften the fold more naturally than filling the fold itself. It will not tighten loose skin along the jaw, though. For jowls, lifting with focused ultrasound or radiofrequency, or a biostimulator, may be more effective.
What should I avoid after cheek filler?
For a day or two, avoid pressing or massaging your cheeks, strenuous exercise, saunas and alcohol, and try not to sleep face-down that night. Makeup can usually go on the next day. Dental work should ideally be spaced a couple of weeks away. Contact the clinic urgently if pain increases or the skin turns pale, blotchy or dusky.
