What they share
One ingredient family, three intended areas
Polynucleotides are chains of DNA fragments. The versions used in medicine are purified from the sperm DNA of salmon trout or chum salmon, with the proteins removed. A pharmacology review describes two main actions: binding adenosine A2A receptors, which are involved in tissue repair and calming inflammation, and supplying nucleotides that cells can reuse.
PharmaResearch calls REJURAN a PN-based skin booster built on its patented DOT PDRN and DOT PN technologies. In plain terms, all three products aim at skin quality: hydration, texture and resilience. The difference between them is where they are meant to go, not a different ingredient family.
The evidence for injected PN in general is promising but limited. A 2025 systematic review found nine studies of low to moderate quality covering 219 patients, with improvements in wrinkles, texture and elasticity and mostly mild, short-lived side effects.
Rejuran i and Rejuran S
The eye area and scars: what the studies can and cannot tell you
Rejuran i: the skin under the eyes is thin and bruises easily, so the product and technique are chosen for that area. In a randomised split-face trial of 27 people, a PN product injected around one eye and a non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid booster around the other gave similar overall improvement after three sessions two weeks apart. The study did not test Rejuran i itself. A hollow tear trough needs volume, which PN does not give, and dark circles from pigment or visible vessels need a different plan.
Rejuran S: Australia's medicines regulator lists REJURAN s as a Class III medical device, described as an animal-derived dermal tissue reconstructive material. For acne scars, a small double-blind trial of 20 women found that a highly purified PN product, a different brand, improved moderate to severe scars more than saline at one and three months. That is encouraging, but small.
Pitted acne scars have structure: tethering bands, walls and lost collagen. PN can be one supporting step, but rolling scars usually need subcision and boxcar scars usually need resurfacing. That is why scar plans at SkinRev Lab are built around those methods.

Injected polynucleotides are not right for everyone. Dr Sin Yong will usually advise waiting, or a different approach, in these situations.
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding: skin boosters are not advised.
- Infection, cold sores, active acne or a rash in the area to be treated.
- Known fish or seafood allergy: PN comes from salmon DNA, so tell the doctor; another type of booster may be the cautious choice.
- Autoimmune disease, a tendency to keloid scars, blood thinners or a bleeding tendency: discuss first.
- Recent filler, laser or peel in the same area: the timing is planned with the doctor.
- If your main concern is sagging, hollowing or deep scars, PN alone will not meet that goal.

Why is Rejuran so painful?
It is given as many small injections close together. Numbing cream is usually applied first, and thin skin under the eyes and on the neck feels more sensitive.
Is the Rejuran facial the same as Rejuran Healer?
No. The Rejuran PDRN Facial at SkinRev Lab applies cosmetic-grade c-PDRN to the skin without needles. Rejuran Healer is injected into the skin by a doctor.
Is Rejuran safe if I have a fish allergy?
Tell the doctor before anything is injected. Purification is designed to remove fish proteins, but we found no published studies of PN injections in people with fish allergy, so another booster may be the cautious choice.
