少女光 (shàonǚ guāng) is the name used at IN Eternity Clinic for a non-ablative laser treatment on the DEKA RedTouch Pro, which emits red light at 675 nanometres. For people searching for shaonu guang laser in Singapore, the treatment is performed by Dr Sin Yong for skin that looks flushed, has visible pores or feels uneven, and for people who want firmer-looking skin without peeling.
Most lasers used for skin quality sit in the infrared range, where water absorbs the light strongly. The 675 nm wavelength is different: it is absorbed relatively little by water and more by collagen and melanin. That allows the energy to be directed into the dermis, where collagen sits, while the surface layer stays intact. The result is a treatment with short social downtime, aimed at gradual change over a course rather than a dramatic one-off.

How it works
The mechanism,
in plain English
The RedTouch Pro delivers its energy through a scanner in a fractional pattern, meaning a grid of tiny heated zones with untouched skin in between. The heated collagen triggers a wound-healing response, and the surrounding untreated skin speeds recovery. Over the following weeks, fibroblasts lay down new collagen, which can make the dermis denser. A denser, healthier dermis supports pore walls and helps the surface look smoother and less congested.
A contact cooling handpiece keeps the epidermis cold during treatment, which protects the surface and makes the session more comfortable for heat-sensitive skin. The device also has a gentler low-energy scanning mode that can be used for darker or tanned skin. The effect on redness is thought to come partly from dermal remodelling and partly from calming inflammation, but this is less well studied than the collagen effect, so it is described as a possible benefit rather than a certainty.
“Redness has many causes; a laser can soften the visible part, but rosacea itself still needs medical management.”

Is it right for you
Who it suits,
and who it does not
It suits people with diffuse facial redness or flushing-prone skin who want a gentle option, people with enlarged pores and rough texture on the cheeks and nose, and people with early loss of firmness who prefer not to have an ablative laser. Because the epidermis stays intact and cooling is built in, it is also considered for people who have found other energy treatments too hot. Shaonu guang laser in Singapore is often chosen by those who need to be back at work the same day.
It is not the primary treatment for rosacea with frequent pimples and bumps, which is managed with creams and sometimes oral medicine prescribed by a doctor. Distinct, larger thread veins usually respond more reliably to a vascular-specific approach. Deep acne scars, significant sagging and active infection need other plans. Treatment is deferred during a severe flare, sunburn or a tan, in pregnancy, and with light-sensitising medicines. Retinoids and exfoliating acids are usually paused for a few days around each session.
Non-invasive alternative at SkinRev Lab
SKINLDM® — SKINLDM® at SkinRev uses dual-frequency local dynamic micro-massage ultrasound to calm reactive, inflamed or congested skin. It suits people who want a soothing, no-downtime option or care between laser sessions, but it does not remodel dermal collagen the way a 675 nm laser is designed to. Read more
What to expect
Consultation, session
and aftercare
At consultation, Dr Sin Yong checks what is causing the redness, such as rosacea, sensitised skin, post-acne marks or broken capillaries, and looks at pore size, oiliness and texture. He will explain whether this laser is the right fit or whether another option, or a combination, suits you better. Tell him about recent flares, skincare and medicines. A course is usually planned at consultation, with sessions spaced weeks apart and maintenance discussed later.
During the session, the cooled handpiece glides over the skin and you feel pulses of warmth. Afterwards, redness and warmth are common for a few hours, sometimes with mild swelling or a faint grid pattern. Over the next few days the skin may feel dry or slightly rough, and tiny darker dots can appear and flake. Keep skincare gentle, avoid heat triggers such as saunas, hot yoga and spicy food for a few days, and use sunscreen daily.

What the research says
The evidence,
with sources
The 675 nm laser is a newer wavelength, so the research base is smaller than for older lasers. A 2024 review in Dermatologic Clinics found studies mainly on skin ageing, melasma and acne scars, with good outcomes reported but variable results, and described the wavelength as targeting collagen. A prospective study of 22 adults with redness, fine wrinkles, enlarged pores and uneven texture found improvements in pore, wrinkle and smoothness scores on 3D imaging after three monthly sessions, with blinded assessors also noting improvement in redness for many participants and no post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
For Asian skin, a prospective study in Fitzpatrick skin types III to IV found sustained improvement in atrophic acne scars and texture with few, temporary side effects. For rosacea more broadly, a large systematic review of randomised studies found low-to-moderate certainty evidence that lasers and intense pulsed light help persistent redness and visible vessels, mostly from vascular lasers, while creams and oral medicine have stronger evidence for bumps and pimples. This is why 675 nm laser is used as one part of a redness plan rather than a cure.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
How much does shaonu guang laser in Singapore cost at IN Eternity Clinic?
Pricing is given at consultation at IN Eternity Clinic, because it depends on the areas treated and how long a course your skin is likely to need. Redness and pores often have more than one cause, so the consultation also covers whether creams, gentle skincare or another laser should be part of the plan, which affects the overall cost.
What does 少女光 laser actually do?
It delivers 675 nm red laser light in a fractional pattern into the dermis while the surface is kept cool and intact. The heat prompts collagen remodelling, which can help pores look smaller, texture smoother and skin firmer over a course. Some people also see less visible redness. Changes build gradually over weeks, and individual results vary.
Is it suitable for rosacea?
It can help the redness of rosacea-prone skin for some people, but it does not cure rosacea. Rosacea is a long-term condition, and bumps and pimples are usually managed with prescription creams or oral medicine. Laser and light treatments have more evidence for persistent redness and visible vessels. Dr Sin Yong confirms the diagnosis first and plans treatment around flares.
Does it hurt, and what is the downtime?
Most people feel pulses of warmth, kept comfortable by the cooled handpiece; numbing is rarely needed. Redness and warmth usually last a few hours, sometimes with mild swelling or a faint grid pattern. Over the next few days the skin may feel dry or rough and show tiny dark dots that flake off. Most people return to work the same day.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on what you are treating and how your skin responds, so a course is planned at consultation rather than fixed beforehand. Sessions are usually spaced weeks apart to let collagen remodel between them, and some people continue with occasional maintenance. Pores and texture tend to change gradually, and redness can fluctuate with triggers such as heat and stress.
Is it safe for darker or Asian skin?
The 675 nm laser has been studied in Asian skin types III to IV, with few and temporary side effects reported, and the device has a gentler scanning mode for darker or tanned skin. Every laser still carries some risk of pigment change, so settings are chosen after an in-person assessment, a tan should fade before treatment, and daily sunscreen is essential.
