Eyebrow shaping in Singapore wax, thread or tweeze, and what it costs
SkinRev Lab shapes brows with warm wax, in a private room at CityLink Mall. Here is how waxing compares with threading and tweezing, how a shape is worked out for your face, and when brow embroidery is the better answer.

Quick answer
- Eyebrow shaping at SkinRev Lab, CityLink Mall, is done by waxing: S$38 for women and S$48 for men, GST included. New clients pay S$28 for one Medium-band area, such as brows, on their first session.
- Waxing tidies the brow shape you already have by removing hair outside the line from the root. Threading is not on our menu, and tweezing is not offered as a separate service.
- Most people come back every four to six weeks. Tell us first if you have taken oral isotretinoin in the last six months or use a retinoid on your face.
- If your brows are sparse, patchy or uneven and you fill them in every day, waxing cannot add hair. Brow embroidery, from S$698 before GST, is the option to consider.

What eyebrow shaping at SkinRev Lab includes
People searching for eyebrow shaping or brow shaping in Singapore usually want the same thing: neater, more even brows that still look like their own. At SkinRev Lab, a non-invasive aesthetic centre at CityLink Mall, that is done with warm wax, in a closed treatment room with one therapist.
Eyebrow shaping sits in the Medium band of our waxing menu. It is S$38 for women and S$48 for men, GST included; the men's rate reflects coarser hair and longer chair time. New clients get a first-visit rate of S$28 on one Medium-band area, once, on their first session.
Waxing works with the brows you have. It removes stray hair below, above and between the brows so the shape reads cleanly. It does not move a brow, thicken it or fill gaps where no hair grows. If that is what you are after, read the section on brow embroidery further down.
Methods
Waxing vs threading vs tweezing
All three pull hair from the root, so regrowth takes longer than after shaving or trimming. They differ in how they work, what they suit and what they ask of your skin.
Which is better depends more on your skin, any medicines you use and the skill of the person doing it than on the method. If your skin reacts to wax, or you would rather have nothing applied to it, threading or tweezing may suit you better, and a threading specialist is the right place to go. Whichever you choose, hygiene matters: a 2019 case report describes molluscum contagiosum appearing over one eyebrow six weeks after threading, and lists folliculitis, flat warts and pigment change among reported threading complications. The authors point to shared thread, cotton or hands as possible routes of spread.
| Waxing | Threading | Tweezing | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How it works | Warm wax is spread over a small section and lifted off, taking a group of hairs from the root | A twisted cotton thread is rolled across the skin, trapping and pulling short rows of hairs | One hair at a time, with tweezers |
| Suits | Tidying the whole brow area in a few strips, including between the brows | Close work along the brow line, with no product on the skin | A few strays between appointments |
| Watch out for | Wax lifts a thin layer of skin with the hair; avoid after oral isotretinoin in the last six months, with retinoids on the area, or on sunburnt or very sensitive skin | Case reports of skin infections spreading along the brow after threading; clean technique matters | Easy to overdo at home; years of plucking can leave brows sparse or patchy |
| At SkinRev Lab | Yes, Medium band: S$38 women, S$48 men, GST included | Not on our menu | Not offered as a separate service |
Mapping
How a brow shape is worked out for your face
A good shape starts from your own brow, not a template. A careful therapist looks at where your hair grows, how full each brow is and how the two compare, and agrees with you which hairs come off before any wax goes on.
Many brow professionals check three reference points with a pencil or straight edge: the start of the brow roughly above the side of the nose, the highest point of the arch towards the outer part of the eye, and the tail ending on a line from the side of the nose past the outer corner of the eye. Treat these as a starting point, not a rule. Faces are not symmetrical, and neither are brows.
Research on what looks natural points the same way. In a study of 40 adults, the preferred brow peak in both women and men sat just inside the outer corner of the eye, the inner and central brow was preferred relatively low, and men preferred a lower brow with a less pronounced peak.
- Bring a photo of your brows on a good day, or of a shape you like, so you can point to it rather than describe it.
- Ask for the shape to be agreed before waxing starts, especially at the tail and between the brows.
- Err towards taking less. A shape can be refined at the next visit; over-thinned brows take time to grow back.

Before and after
Preparing for a brow wax, and aftercare
The skin around the brows is thin, and a little preparation avoids most problems.
- Tell us at booking if you have taken oral isotretinoin in the last six months, use a retinoid on your face, are pregnant, or have had a peel or laser on the area recently. Some of these mean we reschedule rather than wax, and we would rather do that.
- Stop topical retinoids on the area about a week beforehand. Do not wax sunburnt or very sensitive skin.
- Wax needs hair of about 5 mm to grip, roughly two to three weeks of growth, so put the tweezers down beforehand.
- Afterwards, expect brief redness. Skip hot showers, sauna, pool and gym for 24 hours, and use a cold compress if the skin feels warm.
- Leave small bumps alone. If redness or swelling lasts more than two days, see a doctor.
How often
How often to shape your brows
For most people, waxing works on a rhythm of every four to six weeks. Because hair is removed from the root, regrowth is slower and finer than after shaving, and keeping to a regular rhythm matters more than the exact interval.
Between visits, tweeze only obvious strays well outside the shape. Plucking along the edge to tidy up is how brows slowly get thinner. If you have over-plucked, leave them alone for a while and let the shape grow back before it is refined.
If you are planning brow embroidery, keep the wax away from that appointment: our guidance is no brow waxing or tinting in the week before embroidery.
Beyond waxing
When brow embroidery makes more sense
Shaping can only take hair away. If the real problem is that there is not enough of it, no wax, thread or tweezer will fix that.
Brow embroidery is cosmetic tattooing: pigment is placed in the upper layers of the skin with a fine needle to build the look of fuller, better-shaped brows. At SkinRev Lab the shape is mapped to your bone structure and growth pattern and agreed on your face before any pigment is placed. It typically lasts one to three years before a refresh is wanted, depending on skin type and sun exposure.
- Consider embroidery if you fill in your brows every day, if they are sparse, patchy or uneven from years of plucking, or if one brow is clearly thinner than the other.
- Misty Brows, S$698: a soft, powdered finish that holds its look longest on oilier skin.
- Natural Hair Stroke, S$798: fine strokes following your own hair direction, suited to normal to dry skin with some brow hair.
- Signature Hybrid Brows, S$1,388: strokes layered over soft shading, often chosen when there is little natural hair. All embroidery prices are before GST.
- Stay with waxing if your brows are reasonably full and you simply want them neater.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
How much is eyebrow shaping at SkinRev Lab?
Eyebrow shaping by waxing is S$38 for women and S$48 for men, GST included. New clients pay S$28 for one Medium-band area, once, on their first session.
Do you do eyebrow threading?
No. Threading is not on SkinRev Lab's menu; we shape brows with wax. If you prefer threading, a threading specialist is the right place to go.
Is waxing or threading better for eyebrows?
Neither is better for everyone. Waxing tidies the whole area quickly in a few strips; threading puts nothing on the skin and suits close work. Your skin, any medicines you use and the skill of the person doing it matter more than the method.
Does brow waxing hurt?
There is a brief, sharp sting as each strip comes off, and the skin may look pink for a while afterwards. The first session tends to be the most uncomfortable, and regular waxing usually feels easier as regrowth becomes finer.
Can I wax my brows if I use retinoids or acne medication?
Check with us first. Waxing can lift skin thinned by retinoids. The usual guidance is to wait six months after finishing oral isotretinoin and to stop topical retinoids on the area about a week before. Tell us at booking.
How often should I get my eyebrows waxed?
Every four to six weeks for most people. Tweeze only obvious strays in between, so there is enough growth to shape at the next visit.
Can waxing make thin brows look fuller?
No. Waxing removes hair; it cannot add any. If your brows are sparse or patchy, eyebrow embroidery from S$698 before GST builds the look of fuller brows, with the shape agreed before any pigment is placed.
Should I wax my brows before eyebrow embroidery?
Not in the week before. Our guidance is no brow waxing or tinting in the week before embroidery, and to arrive without brow make-up so the mapping starts from your real shape.
