Salmon DNA facial in Singapore what PDRN is, and what a facial can and cannot do
Salmon DNA facials use PDRN, purified DNA fragments from salmon, to support skin repair. Here is what the ingredient is, how injected and needle-free versions differ, and what the evidence honestly shows.
Quick answer
- A salmon DNA facial is a facial built around PDRN or PN: purified fragments of DNA from salmon trout or chum salmon, with the proteins removed. In skin, PDRN is thought to support repair and calm inflammation, mainly by acting on adenosine A2A receptors.
- The same ingredient family is used two ways. Injected polynucleotides, such as Rejuran Healer, are a medical procedure performed by a doctor; needle-free PDRN facials apply a cosmetic-grade form to the skin and help it past the outer barrier without needles.
- The evidence is stronger for injection than for facials. A 2025 systematic review found promising but low-to-moderate quality evidence for injected polynucleotides, while topical delivery is limited because PDRN molecules are far larger than what crosses intact skin easily.
- At SkinRev Lab, CityLink Mall, the Rejuran PDRN Facial is needle-free, using Meso Touch transdermal technology, and costs S$128 to S$348 per session before GST across nine tiers. Injected polynucleotides are performed by Dr Sin Yong at IN Eternity Clinic and priced at consultation by the clinic.
The basics
What a salmon DNA facial actually is
"Salmon DNA" is the popular name for PDRN (polydeoxyribonucleotide) and PN (polynucleotide). They are mixtures of DNA fragments purified from salmon trout or chum salmon sperm DNA, processed to remove the proteins that could trigger immune reactions. PDRN was first used as a tissue-repair medicine, including for wound healing, before it moved into aesthetics.
A salmon DNA facial puts a cosmetic-grade form of this ingredient on the skin as part of a facial, usually with some way of helping it past the skin's outer layer. That is different from a salmon DNA injection, where a doctor places a professional-grade product into the dermis with a fine needle. Many ads say "salmon DNA" or "Rejuran" without saying which one they mean.
The terms
PDRN, PN, c-PDRN and Rejuran
PDRN and PN are often used interchangeably, which causes confusion. All Rejuran is polynucleotide, but not all PDRN is Rejuran, so check what a treatment actually contains.
| Term | What it is | Where you meet it |
|---|---|---|
| PDRN | Salmon-derived DNA fragments, roughly 50 to 1,500 kDa | Injected boosters, post-procedure care, skincare |
| PN (polynucleotide) | Under a proposed 2025 definition, longer-chain DNA polymers of 1,500 kDa or more | Injectable PN boosters, such as Rejuran Healer |
| c-PDRN | Cosmetic-grade PDRN for use on the skin | Facials and skincare, such as the Rejuran PDRN Facial |
| Rejuran | A Korean brand name, not an ingredient | Both injectable products and cosmetic products |
How it works
What PDRN is thought to do for skin
Laboratory and clinical research suggests PDRN works mainly by switching on adenosine A2A receptors, which are involved in tissue repair and in calming inflammation. It also supplies building blocks that cells can reuse when making DNA, known as the salvage pathway.
In skin terms, that means support for fibroblasts, the cells that make collagen, and for hydration and barrier recovery. This is why polynucleotides are used for dull or dehydrated skin, fine lines, sensitised skin and skin recovering from procedures. It is a skin-quality ingredient: it does not lift, add volume or remove pigment.
Injected vs needle-free
Injected PDRN vs a needle-free facial
These routes are not substitutes for one another. Injection reaches deeper and does more, with more downtime; a facial is gentler, needs no needles and suits people who want gradual change or maintenance.
| Injected polynucleotide (e.g. Rejuran Healer) | Needle-free PDRN facial | PDRN skincare at home | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who performs it | A doctor | An aesthetic therapist | You |
| How it reaches the skin | Microdroplets placed 1 to 2 mm deep | Applied in a facial, with a device to help it past the outer barrier | Applied to the surface |
| Product | Professional-grade, higher concentration | Cosmetic-grade | Cosmetic-grade |
| Afterwards | Small bumps and redness for hours to a day or two; bruising possible | Usually no recovery period | None |
| How change arrives | Stronger, over weeks across a course | Gentler, across a course | Gradual, with daily use |
| Strength of evidence | Promising but limited | Limited; little published on facial devices | Limited; a few small studies |
Evidence
What the evidence shows, and what it does not
For injections, a 2025 systematic review found nine studies of low to moderate quality, covering 219 patients. Results for wrinkles, texture and elasticity were promising and side effects mostly mild and short-lived, but the authors called for more rigorous trials. A 2026 expert panel, whose authors included advisers to and employees of a polynucleotide manufacturer, reported no published cases of granuloma or blocked vessels, and also described the evidence base as limited.
For topical use, the evidence is weaker. Intact skin lets very little through above about 500 daltons, and PDRN fragments are roughly 100 to 3,000 times larger. One small 2026 randomised split-face study of 31 women found a 0.1% PDRN eye cream improved fine lines and skin density over 28 days compared with a retinol cream, which is encouraging but is one product, one short study and a cream rather than a facial.
We found no published studies on the Meso Touch device itself, and evidence for injections does not transfer directly to a facial. So we describe a PDRN facial as a gradual, course-based improvement in hydration, calmness and texture, not as an injection without the needle. Results vary.
At SkinRev Lab
The Rejuran PDRN Facial: nine tiers
Every tier is built around the same needle-free Rejuran c-PDRN infusion from the Rejuran Professional range, delivered with Meso Touch transdermal technology. What changes is the technique around it and the session length: the Singapore range is massage-led, the Oriental range uses pressure-point massage or guasha, and the Korea range is infusion-led, adding boosters, galvanic or LED, with a scalp tier.
Longer tiers add steps such as clogged-pore care, extraction, shoulder massage and double masking. No first-visit rate is published for this facial. Your Aesthetic Specialist suggests a starting tier at a skin assessment at CityLink Mall #B1-28, by City Hall MRT.
| Range | Tier · duration | Price (before GST) |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore | Essential · 60 min | S$128 |
| Singapore | Signature · 75 min | S$158 |
| Singapore | Professional · 90 min | S$188 |
| Oriental | Essential · 60 min | S$148 |
| Oriental | Signature · 75 min | S$178 |
| Oriental | Professional · 90 min | S$208 |
| Korea | Signature · 60 min | S$248 |
| Korea | Professional · 75 min | S$298 |
| Korea | Professional (Scalp) · 90 min | S$348 |
Choosing
Who suits a facial, and who should consider injection
On public Singapore clinic pages we checked in October 2026, injected polynucleotide boosters were advertised from about S$500 to S$700, and one Singapore doctor-answer site quoted about S$600 to S$1,400 a session for Rejuran Healer. At IN Eternity Clinic, Dr Sin Yong performs injectable PN, HA and PDLLA boosters, priced at consultation by the clinic; WhatsApp +65 8815 3008.
- A needle-free PDRN facial suits dull, dehydrated or reactive skin, people who want no needles and no recovery time, and maintenance between other treatments.
- Injected polynucleotides suit people who want a stronger skin-quality change, such as crepey under-eyes, and accept small bumps and possible bruising.
- Deep or pitted acne scars usually need more than either: resurfacing or a combined scar plan with a doctor.
- Sagging, hollows and pigment need other treatments; PDRN does not lift, fill or remove spots.
Safety
Safety, and when to see a doctor first
- Tell your provider about any fish or salmon allergy, as PDRN is derived from fish DNA.
- Injected boosters are not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or over infection, cold sores or inflamed acne.
- Only a doctor should inject polynucleotides. If an injection is offered by someone who is not a doctor, do not go ahead.
- See a doctor first for painful or scarring acne, a rash that keeps flaring, or any spot that is new, changing or bleeding.
- Tell each provider about recent injections or lasers, so facials are not booked too soon afterwards.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
What is a salmon DNA facial?
It is a facial built around PDRN or PN, purified DNA fragments from salmon, applied to the skin with a method that helps it past the outer barrier. It aims to improve hydration, calmness and texture gradually across a course, without needles.
Is PDRN really made from salmon sperm?
Yes. PDRN is purified from the sperm DNA of salmon trout or chum salmon, with the proteins removed so it is well tolerated. The result is a mixture of DNA fragments, not live cells.
Does a salmon DNA facial work without needles?
It can help, within limits. Without needles less PDRN reaches living skin, because large molecules cross the skin barrier poorly, so expect gradual improvement in hydration and calmness rather than an injection-level change. Evidence for topical delivery is weaker than for injections.
Is a PDRN facial the same as Rejuran Healer?
No. Rejuran Healer is an injected polynucleotide booster performed by a doctor. A PDRN facial uses a cosmetic-grade form on the skin, with no needles. They share an ingredient family but differ in concentration, depth and strength of effect.
How much is a salmon DNA facial in Singapore?
At SkinRev Lab, the needle-free Rejuran PDRN Facial costs S$128 to S$348 per session before GST, depending on the range and session length. Injected polynucleotides are a separate medical service, priced by clinics; at IN Eternity Clinic they are priced at consultation.
How many PDRN facials do I need?
Skin often looks more hydrated after one session, while texture and calmness build over a course spaced a few weeks apart, followed by maintenance. Your Aesthetic Specialist plans the spacing at a skin assessment.
Is a salmon DNA facial safe if I have a fish allergy?
Mention it before treatment. PDRN is purified to remove proteins, but it is derived from fish DNA, so a provider should assess whether it is suitable for you, and a doctor should advise if your allergy is severe.
Can a PDRN facial help acne scars?
It can help the look of post-acne marks and support skin recovering from scar treatments, but it will not fill deep or pitted scars. Those usually need resurfacing or a doctor-led scar plan.
