Treatments we do not offer: surgery, PRP and electrolysis, and what to consider instead

Knowing what a clinic does not do is as useful as knowing what it does. SkinRev Lab does not perform surgery, PRP or electrolysis. Here is why that matters for your planning, what we can offer instead where it is a fair alternative, and how surgical cases are referred.

Written & medically reviewed by Dr Sin Yong · 30 October 2026

Quick answer

  • SkinRev Lab does not offer surgery of any kind, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), including PRP for hair loss, or electrolysis. If one of these is what you need, we will say so at the first visit rather than offer something that only looks similar.
  • Where there is an honest alternative, Dr Sin Yong explains it: laser hair removal instead of electrolysis for dark hair; lasers and RF microneedling overlaid with exosomes for hair loss; skin boosters for skin quality; and non-surgical lifting or contouring when surgery is not yet needed.
  • Patients who need surgery, such as eyelid surgery, a facelift, rhinoplasty or liposuction, are referred to a plastic surgeon. Medical treatments at SkinRev Lab and IN Eternity Clinic are performed by Dr Sin Yong and priced at consultation.

Why this page exists

Why a clinic should say what it does not do

People often search for a treatment by name, find a clinic nearby, and only learn at the consultation that the clinic offers something different. This page lists the treatments people ask us about that SkinRev Lab does not provide, so you can plan with the full picture.

SkinRev Lab is an aesthetic clinic at CityLink Mall, licensed by the Ministry of Health as SkinRev Clinic. Dr Sin Yong performs the doctor-led treatments here and at IN Eternity Clinic, Pacific Plaza. In Singapore, the aesthetic procedures doctors may perform are set out in the Singapore Medical Council's Guidelines on Aesthetic Practices for Doctors, and any treatment we offer has to fit within those rules and within what we can do safely and well.

Surgery: we refer you to a plastic surgeon

SkinRev Lab does not perform surgery. That includes upper or lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), facelifts and neck lifts, rhinoplasty, liposuction, tummy tucks, buccal fat removal, fat transfer and breast surgery. These need an operating theatre and surgical follow-up, and are the work of plastic surgeons.

Some concerns are surgical by nature. A true fat bulge under the eyes, heavy excess eyelid skin that rests on the lashes, marked skin laxity after major weight loss, or a nasal shape that needs bone or cartilage changed will not be solved by an injection or a device. When Dr Sin Yong sees that, he says so and refers you to a plastic surgeon rather than offering a partial non-surgical substitute.

Where a concern is earlier or milder, a non-surgical option may be reasonable: for example, lifting with HIFU or VF Lift, a nose thread lift or filler for a low nasal bridge, or fat reduction devices for a small, pinchable area. These have real limits, and the consultation is where those limits are explained.

PRP, including PRP for hair loss

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is made by drawing a patient's blood, spinning it in a centrifuge and injecting the platelet-rich layer into the scalp or skin. SkinRev Lab does not offer PRP for the face or for hair, and neither does Dr Sin Yong at SkinRev Lab or IN Eternity Clinic.

PRP is widely used for pattern hair loss, and studies suggest it can increase hair density, but the evidence is uneven. A 2024 systematic review and meta-analysis of randomised trials found PRP increased hair density in androgenetic alopecia, while rating the certainty of the evidence as low, noting very mixed study results, and stating that there is still no agreed way to prepare PRP.

For hair loss, Dr Sin Yong starts with a diagnosis, because pattern hair loss, shedding after illness and patchy hair loss are managed differently. His in-clinic protocol uses lasers, including H2LT laser, and RF microneedling, overlaid with exosomes, with Nourkrin and exosome products for home care, and prescription treatment where appropriate. Regenera Activa is used for some patients. Results vary, and treatment is priced at consultation.

Electrolysis: laser hair removal for dark hair instead

Electrolysis removes hair one follicle at a time: a fine wire is placed into each follicle and an electric current destroys the hair root. It can treat hair of any colour, including grey, white, blonde and red hair, and it is regarded as permanent, but it needs many sessions over months. SkinRev Lab does not offer electrolysis.

Hair removal at SkinRev Lab is by laser or waxing. Laser hair removal is performed by Dr Sin Yong at SkinRev Lab or IN Eternity Clinic on the Lutronic Clarity II, with 755 nm alexandrite for fairer skin and finer hair and 1064 nm Nd:YAG for tanned or darker skin. It gives long-term hair reduction rather than the removal of every hair, and most people need a course of several sessions, sometimes with maintenance.

Laser targets pigment in the hair, so it works poorly on grey, white, red and very fair hair. If that is your hair, electrolysis at a provider that offers it is the more suitable route, and we will tell you so. Waxing at SkinRev Lab removes hair of any colour for several weeks.

What we do offer

What SkinRev Lab offers instead, where it is a fair alternative

An alternative is only worth offering if it addresses the same concern honestly. The list below shows what Dr Sin Yong or our therapists may suggest in place of the treatments above, and when each is not a substitute. Every medical option starts with a consultation, and medical treatments are priced at consultation.

  • Instead of PRP for hair loss: assessment and diagnosis, then lasers and RF microneedling overlaid with exosomes, with Nourkrin and exosome home care, and prescription treatment where appropriate.
  • Instead of a PRP facial: injectable skin boosters (hyaluronic acid or polynucleotides) for hydration, texture and fine lines, performed by Dr Sin Yong.
  • Instead of electrolysis for dark hair: laser hair removal on two wavelengths matched to your skin; for grey, white or red hair, electrolysis elsewhere is the better route.
  • Instead of a surgical lift for early laxity: HIFU, VF Lift or a thread lift, which tighten and lift modestly but do not remove excess skin.
  • Instead of liposuction for a small, pinchable area: non-surgical fat reduction, which works gradually over a course and is not weight loss.

If you are not sure which group your concern falls into

You do not need to know the right treatment before you contact us. Describe the concern on WhatsApp (+65 8266 9585), and say if you would like a doctor's consultation. Dr Sin Yong will tell you whether it is something he treats, something a non-surgical option can improve, or something that needs a surgeon or another specialist.

SkinRev Lab is at #B1-28 CityLink Mall, 1 Raffles Link, linked underground to City Hall and Esplanade MRT, and is open daily from 11am to 8pm. IN Eternity Clinic is at 9 Scotts Road, #12-01 Pacific Plaza, beside Orchard MRT.

Common questions

Your questions,
answered

Does SkinRev Lab offer PRP for hair loss?

No. SkinRev Lab does not offer PRP for hair or for the face. For hair loss, Dr Sin Yong diagnoses the cause first and uses lasers and RF microneedling overlaid with exosomes, with Nourkrin and exosome home care and prescription treatment where appropriate. Treatment is priced at consultation.

Do you offer electrolysis?

No. Hair removal at SkinRev Lab is by laser or waxing. Laser works on dark hair; for grey, white, red or very fair hair, electrolysis at a provider that offers it is more suitable, and we will tell you so.

Can I have eyelid surgery or a facelift at SkinRev Lab?

No. SkinRev Lab does not perform surgery. If your concern needs an operation, such as a fat bulge under the eyes or heavy excess eyelid skin, Dr Sin Yong will refer you to a plastic surgeon.

Is a non-surgical treatment always a fair alternative to surgery?

No. Non-surgical lifting, threads and fat reduction devices give modest, gradual change and suit early or mild concerns. They do not remove excess skin or fat the way surgery does. The consultation is where Dr Sin Yong explains which applies to you.

Why does a clinic publish a list of treatments it does not offer?

So you can plan with accurate information. It avoids being steered towards something that only looks similar to what you need, and it makes referrals clear from the start.

How do I find out whether my concern is treatable here?

Send a short description on WhatsApp, +65 8266 9585, and ask for a doctor's consultation. Dr Sin Yong assesses the concern and tells you whether he treats it, whether a non-surgical option is reasonable, or whether you need a referral.
