Colour worked into the lip itself, evening out tone and softening the border rather than drawing a line around it. The shade is chosen with you, and settles two to three tones lighter than it first appears.
What Lip Blush Does
Lip blush places soft pigment across the whole lip rather than outlining it. The aim is even tone, a slightly clearer border and a little more definition of shape — the look of naturally good lip colour, not of makeup.
It is most often wanted for lips that read uneven or shadowed in tone, lips whose border has softened with age, or lips that simply lack colour without product. It is cosmetic tattooing, placed with a fine needle, and we say so plainly.

The Shade, and Why It Looks Wrong at First
This is the part worth understanding before you book. Immediately after, the colour looks considerably stronger and more saturated than the final result — usually two to three tones deeper. It settles as it heals.
People who were not told this in advance often panic on day two. People who were told it wait, and are pleased by day ten. The shade is selected with you against your natural lip tone rather than from a chart.
Lips Behave Differently from Brows
Lip tissue is more vascular and turns over faster than brow skin, so pigment sits differently and retention varies more between people. Density can heal unevenly in patches, which is normal and why a review appointment is recommended.
Lips are also the more sensitive area of the two. Topical numbing is used throughout, but most people find lip work more intense than brow work — worth knowing rather than discovering.
If you are prone to cold sores, the procedure can trigger an outbreak. Tell us at consultation; it is manageable with preventative medication from your doctor beforehand, but it needs planning rather than improvising.
