The JLo Beauty Booster: what is in it, and what it can do in a HydraFacial
The JLo Beauty Booster is one of the HydraFacial add-ons people ask about by name. Here is what it is, what each listed ingredient is for, what the evidence says about those ingredients, who it suits, and when a different choice makes more sense.

Quick answer
- The JLo Beauty Booster is a HydraFacial booster serum developed with JLo Beauty and released in 2022. It is infused through the HydraFacial handpiece during the hydration step.
- The manufacturer lists olive leaf extract; a hydrating complex of rice bran extract, polyglutamic acid and hyaluronic acid; a fermented blend of snow mushroom, beetroot and tiger grass; and niacinamide. It is aimed at dull, uneven-looking skin.
- We found no peer-reviewed study of the booster itself. There is evidence for some of its ingredients, notably niacinamide and hyaluronic acid, mostly from regular use at home over weeks.
- At SkinRev Lab, it can be added to any HydraFacial Syndeo tier. Deluxe and Platinum already include a targeted booster chosen at consultation. Pricing is given at the counter.
What it is
What the JLo Beauty Booster is
A HydraFacial booster is a concentrated serum added to the facial for one concern. It goes in through the handpiece during the hydration step, while the skin is freshly exfoliated and cleared, rather than being patted on at the end.
The HydraFacial x JLo Beauty Booster was developed by HydraFacial with JLo Beauty, the skincare brand founded by Jennifer Lopez, and released in October 2022. The trade press described it as one of around 20 boosters in the HydraFacial range at the time, and as inspired by JLo Beauty's glow serum.
HydraFacial files it under dullness and tone. In practice, it is the booster people choose when skin looks tired and flat rather than congested.
Ingredients
What is in it, ingredient by ingredient
These are the named ingredients on the manufacturer's booster page, with what each is generally used for in skincare. The full formula and concentrations are not published.
- Olive leaf extract: a plant extract with antioxidant compounds, listed by the manufacturer for hydration and nourishment.
- Hydrating complex: rice bran extract, polyglutamic acid and hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid and polyglutamic acid are humectants, which draw and hold water in the outer layer of skin.
- Fermented blend: extracts of snow mushroom, beetroot and tiger grass. Snow mushroom is used as a humectant, and tiger grass (Centella asiatica) is a common soothing ingredient.
- Niacinamide: a form of vitamin B3, among the better-studied ingredients for uneven tone and barrier support.
The evidence
What the evidence says about the key ingredients
Niacinamide has the most data. In a 2005 double-blind, split-face study, 50 women applied 5% niacinamide to one side of the face and a plain base to the other, twice daily for 12 weeks; the niacinamide side showed fewer fine lines, fewer dark spots, less red blotchiness and less sallowness, with better elasticity.
A 2002 study found niacinamide reduced the transfer of pigment from melanocytes to surrounding skin cells by 35 to 68% in the laboratory, and that a niacinamide moisturiser reduced hyperpigmentation more than a plain moisturiser after four weeks in Japanese women.
Hyaluronic acid is the skin's main water-holding molecule, which is why it is used in almost every hydrating serum.
The honest caveat: these results come from applying the ingredient regularly at home over weeks. A booster delivers them once, during one facial. Expect a brighter, more hydrated look that lasts days, not the changes seen in those studies.
Suitability
Who it suits, and when another choice is better
It suits skin that looks dull, dehydrated or tired, for example after travel, late nights or long days in air-conditioning, and people preparing for an event who want a fresher look. A different choice is often better in the cases below.
- Congestion and blackheads are your main concern: the extraction step and a tier matched to pores matter more than a glow booster.
- Melasma or stubborn dark spots: a booster can brighten for a while but does not treat pigment. A doctor's assessment is the right start.
- Very sensitive or reactive skin: start with the core facial, and add a booster once you know how your skin responds.
- Pregnancy: tell us before your session, because booster choice is reviewed and some steps are adjusted.

If dullness and dehydration are your only concern, Signature with the JLo Beauty Booster is a reasonable choice. If you have more than one concern, ask your Aesthetic Therapist whether Deluxe makes more sense. Pricing for the booster and each tier is given at the counter or on WhatsApp at +65 8266 9585.
SkinRev Lab is at #B1-28 CityLink Mall, 1 Raffles Link, on the underground link between City Hall and Esplanade MRT, open daily 11am to 8pm.
