Guide · Packages and prepayment
Facial and slimming packages in Singapore what to check before you prepay, and when to walk away
A package can save money if you use every session and the business stays open. It can also lock you into treatments you no longer want. Here is what Singapore's consumer rules do and do not cover, the questions to ask first, and how SkinRev Lab prices its services.

Quick answer
- Before you prepay for a facial package or slimming package in Singapore, get the terms in writing: the price per session, the number of sessions, the validity period, and what happens to unused sessions if you stop or the business closes. If you can pay per session instead, that is usually the safer choice.
- Do not count on a cooling-off period. Singapore's five-working-day cancellation period covers direct sales, such as a contract signed during an unsolicited visit to your home, and time share contracts. A package signed at the salon's own counter generally has no such right unless the business offers one; CaseTrust-accredited spa and wellness businesses must give at least five working days.
- Beauty complaints topped the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) list in the first half of 2026, with 1,124 complaints and more than S$1.9 million in prepayment losses. CASE advises avoiding large advance payments and paying per use or in smaller instalments.
- SkinRev Lab publishes per-session prices, before GST except waxing, and its first-visit rates are the price of one session. Its policies state that treatment packages are non-refundable and non-transferable, and it suggests booking a single session first if you are undecided.
Why it matters
Why prepaid packages are where the money goes
A single facial or body session is a small, known cost. A prepaid package is a large payment for services delivered over months, and most of the risk sits with you: if you stop going, change your mind, move, become pregnant or the business closes, the unused sessions may be worth nothing.
The figures bear this out. CASE received 1,124 complaints about the beauty industry in the first half of 2026, more than double the 558 in the same period of 2025, and reported prepayment losses of more than S$1.9 million, close to 18 times the year before. Nearly four in ten complaints involved businesses failing to honour their contracts, and about 15.3% involved alleged unethical sales tactics.
That is why many people now search for a no-package facial: somewhere that sells one session at a time, without a sales pitch on the treatment bed.
Your rights
Cooling-off periods and your rights under Singapore law
The Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act (CPFTA) prohibits unfair practices, including misleading claims and a supplier exerting undue pressure on a consumer. It also provides a cooling-off period for direct sales and time share contracts: the cancellation period is five working days, and suppliers must refund within 60 days of a cancellation under the regulations.
A direct sales contract is one made during an unsolicited visit by a supplier, for example to your home or your place of work. A facial or slimming package signed at the salon's own premises generally falls outside this, so there is usually no legal right to cancel simply because you changed your mind. Read the contract as if it is final, because it usually is.
CaseTrust accreditation adds protection. Accredited spa and wellness businesses must give a cooling-off period of at least five working days for a full refund of payments made, excluding services already used, protect prepayments with insurance, and keep a no-selling policy in the treatment room. In September 2026 the Government said it would not make CaseTrust compulsory for high-value packages, and encouraged consumers to choose accredited businesses and pay in progressive instalments.
| Situation | Statutory cooling-off? | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Package signed at the salon or centre | Generally no | Treat it as final; take the terms home before paying |
| Contract signed during an unsolicited visit to your home or workplace | Yes, five working days | Give notice of cancellation within the period |
| Package from a CaseTrust-accredited spa or wellness business | At least five working days under the scheme | Check the accreditation and the written terms |
| Pressured, misled or charged for services you did not agree to | Not a cooling-off matter | Ask CASE for advice; the Small Claims Tribunals hear unfair-practice claims |
Before you pay
Before you buy a facial package in Singapore: the checklist
Ask these questions anywhere, including at SkinRev Lab, and get the answers in writing before you pay. If the answers change between the sales talk and the contract, the contract is what counts.
Work out the real per-session price yourself: divide the package price, with GST, by the number of sessions you will realistically use within the validity period, not the number printed on the offer.
| Ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| What is the price for one session without the package? | Shows whether the package actually saves you money |
| How many sessions, and what exactly is in each one? | Steps, device, products and minutes of treatment |
| How long is the package valid? | Ten facials at four- to six-week intervals take about nine months to a year to use |
| Can unused sessions be refunded, paused or transferred? | Many packages are non-refundable and non-transferable |
| What happens if the business closes? | Prepayment protection applies only under schemes such as CaseTrust |
| Is GST included? | At 9%, a S$1,000 package before GST costs S$1,090 |
| Who performs it, and is my skin or body assessed first? | A plan made before any assessment is a sales plan |
Slimming packages
Slimming package in Singapore: extra checks
Slimming packages add a second risk: claims that are hard to check. Non-invasive body treatments reduce a small volume of pinchable fat in the treated area over a course; they do not produce meaningful weight loss on the scale.
Be wary of a promised number of kilos or inches, results photos you cannot verify, a ‘body analysis’ that always ends in a large package, and slimming pills, teas or supplements sold alongside the treatment. If your weight is affecting your health, start with a doctor rather than a package.
Body treatments are usually priced per zone or region, and a larger area may need more than one zone. Ask for the total for your area and the realistic number of sessions, not just the first-visit price.
Red flags
Red flags: hard selling and claims you cannot check
Most package problems start with the sale, not the treatment. Any one of the signs below is a reason to pause; two or more is a reason to leave.
Saying ‘not today’ is enough. A business that respects that is easier to trust with your money.
- A discount that exists only if you sign today.
- A sales talk on the treatment bed, or a trial session that turns into a long consultation.
- Being told your skin or body ‘needs’ a course before anyone has assessed it properly.
- Promises of a set number of kilos, a permanent fix or ‘whitening’ in one session.
- No written terms, or terms you are not allowed to take home.
- Staff who cannot name the device, its maker or what it does.
- Pressure to add to an existing package before it is used up.
- Injections, prescription creams or slimming pills offered without a doctor.
If you already paid
If you already bought a package you regret
Start with the business, in writing: say what went wrong and what you want, such as a refund of unused sessions, and keep copies of receipts, contracts, messages and any advertising claims. Consumers are expected to try to resolve a dispute with the trader first.
If that fails, CASE can advise on your options, including mediation, and the Small Claims Tribunals hear claims about contracts for services and unfair practices of up to S$20,000, or S$30,000 if both sides consent, filed within two years. If the business has closed and was CaseTrust-accredited, the scheme's prepayment insurance lets you claim the unused portion.
An independent Consumer Protection Review Panel is reviewing whether protections for high-value packages are adequate, with findings expected later in 2026. Check CASE for any new rules before you buy.
At SkinRev Lab
How SkinRev Lab prices its services
SkinRev Lab's price list shows standard per-session rates in Singapore dollars, before GST, except waxing, which is shown GST included. Prices may change, and the price that applies is the one confirmed when you book or buy. Body treatments are priced per region or per 15 × 15 cm zone, and your Aesthetic Specialist sets out the total at consultation, before anything is booked.
Where a first-visit rate is published, it applies once per new client, on the first session, and the price list attaches no package to it. Examples, before GST: SKINLDM S$68 (standard S$288), Needleless SkinBooster from S$98 for the first region (standard S$288 per region) and SKINSHAPE S$88 for one zone (standard S$288 per zone); the HydraFacial Syndeo first-timer rate is given at the counter.
SkinRev Lab's terms and refund policy also cover treatment packages. They state that treatments and packages are sold on a non-refundable basis; packages are non-transferable and unused sessions cannot be exchanged for cash or credit; any validity period is made clear at purchase; and promotional rates apply to the named client only. A refund is given if SkinRev Lab cancels or cannot provide a treatment you paid for and no alternative is agreed; the amount is refunded or credited if a treatment is assessed as unsuitable or unsafe for you at consultation; and statutory rights under the CPFTA and the Sale of Goods Act are not affected.
If a medical condition or other significant change stops you continuing a package, the policy asks you to speak to the team, which is not obliged to refund but says it will look at what it reasonably can. Its own advice matches this guide: if you are undecided, book a single session first.
Paying per session
No package facial? Paying per session and still planning a course
Some treatments work as a course, such as needle-free boosters, body contouring or energy-based lifting. A course does not have to mean a prepaid package: ask for a realistic number of sessions and the total cost up front, then pay as you go, so you can stop if the treatment is not suiting you.
Facials for congestion or dehydration are often repeated every four to six weeks, which is roughly nine to thirteen sessions a year. Work out that cost per session before deciding whether any package actually saves money.
When it is medical
When a package is the wrong answer: see a doctor
Some concerns do not respond to facials or slimming sessions, however many you buy. Melasma, deep acne scars, painful or scarring acne, and weight that is affecting your health need a medical assessment first; paying for session after session can cost more than seeing a doctor once.
In our network, Dr Sin Yong assesses these at IN Eternity Clinic, 9 Scotts Road, #12-01 Pacific Plaza, beside Orchard MRT, and treatment is priced at consultation. SkinRev Lab can pass your enquiry to the clinic, with no fee for the referral.

Common questions
Your questions,
answered
Should I buy a facial package in Singapore?
Only if you will use every session within the validity period, the per-session saving is real, the terms are in writing and you could afford the loss if the business closed. Otherwise paying per session is safer; CASE advises paying per use or in smaller instalments.
Is there a cooling-off period for beauty packages in Singapore?
Not by default. The legal five-working-day cancellation period covers direct sales, such as a contract made during an unsolicited visit to your home, and time share contracts. Packages bought at a salon are generally not covered unless the business offers one; CaseTrust-accredited spa and wellness businesses must give at least five working days.
Can I get a refund for unused facial or slimming sessions?
It depends on your contract, and many packages are non-refundable. You may have a claim if you were misled or pressured, or the business cannot provide what you paid for. CASE can advise, and the Small Claims Tribunals hear such claims of up to S$20,000.
What happens to my package if the salon closes?
Unused prepayments are often lost unless a protection scheme applies. Under CaseTrust for spa and wellness businesses, prepayments are insured, so you can claim the unused portion if an accredited business closes. Keep your receipts and contract.
Is a slimming package worth it?
Only for a clear, realistic goal, such as reducing pinchable fat in one area, with a named device, an assessment first and a total price you can check. Body treatments do not cause meaningful weight loss, so be wary of promised kilos or inches.
How do I handle hard selling at a beauty salon?
Say no, or not today, pay only for the session you came for and leave. The CPFTA prohibits suppliers from exerting undue pressure on consumers. If you were pressured or misled, contact CASE for advice.
Does SkinRev Lab sell packages?
Its price list is per session, and first-visit rates are the price of one session with no package attached. Its policies state that treatment packages are non-refundable and non-transferable, with any validity period made clear at purchase, and it suggests booking a single session first if you are undecided.
Where can I get a facial without a package in Singapore?
Look for a centre that publishes per-session prices, sells single sessions and does not tie first-visit rates to a course. At SkinRev Lab, facials are priced per session, from S$128 for a 60-minute Rejuran® PDRN Facial before GST, and SKINLDM is S$68 for a first visit.
